Best Ever Rugelach

Reviewed: May 19, 2011
I can not say if these are the best since I've never had them before but I truly liked these. Since I didn't have apricot jam I used strawberry preserves and black berry preserves. They were delicious!!! Don't try making them bigger... they unfold! Oops.

Authentic German Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 15, 2011
Where to begin... I've been trying to like cheesecake for a long time. I've done dozens of recipes trying to find one that I can say I like. Today I had cottage cheese and didn't know what to do with it and so started looking desserts made with cottage cheese and found this recipe. As soon as my husband spotted me making the cheesecake he said, "stop tying to like cheesecake, you will never like cheesecake." I gave it a try anyways and OMW! I LOVEd IT. I followed the recipe except that I put the cottage cheese in the blender to soften and smooth it. Everything else I did and it turned out to be an amazing cheesecake. Loved the consistency and the taste. Thank you so much for helping me fall in love finally with cheesecake! (only this recipe). I have promised myself not to look for anymore recipes since I have found the love of my life.

Mini Sour Cream Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
My husband rarely says "I like this"... and with these he did. Now he does not want to buy the frozen biscuits for his sausage anymore... I liked them too.

Caramel Filled Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
Followed others suggestion in adding flour, cocoa powder and salt and they were very good. I had only 4 that broke and I think it was the store brand chocolate caramel cups I bought. Rolos were nice but the best were the peanut butter cups.

Cream Cheese Snowball Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2010
Supposed to get 24 cookies but instead I got 30 and yet had to bake them for 15 min. and still they were very doughy... The almond extract taste was overwhelming! Will never make them again.

They were ok. Nothing special. No I don't know what to do with the two mustard bottles I bought for this...

Green Grape Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2010
5 stars for taste and 1 star for presentation. It is not the slicing kind of pie. Not appealing at all after slicing it. I was surprised by the taste though... really good. I followed other suggestions and put 4 tablespoons of cornstarcch which didn't do anything to the consistency. I still had to drain 98% of the juice and still had plenty of liquid after I poured it in the crust. I will do it again only if I forget that I have grapes in the fridge and need to eat/use them before they go bad. Will not do it for guests. Not a nice presentation.

Cinnamon Raisin Stuffed French Toast

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2010
I used a loaf of bread I had made a few days ago and the rest I made as called for. Of course the bread I used was plain and still it was delicious!

Brownie Caramel Cheesecake

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2010
Very disspointing! Didn't have a disaster like others did (thanks to everyone who shared their experience, expertise and wisdom) but it simply wasn't good. Don't get me wrong, it was edible and that's why I gave it three stars. I did not like the thick, dense consistency of either the brownie nor the cheesecake (reminded me of peanutbutter). Flavorwise was ok. I only used half of the caramel called for and it was still too sweet (and by the way, when you pour the caramel, leave one inch clear and free around and then spoon the batter by starting at the edge) I will not try again, and if I do, I will bake them separately and paste them together with the caramel.

Easy to make. Taste is quite good. They are much better at room temp than out from the oven!

French Butter Cakes (Madeleines)

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2010
I didn't have lemons so I used 1 1/2 teaspoons of lemon extract. They were very good. I can only imagine how delicious they will be with real lemon zest. You do have to watch the oven time. Mine were done at almost 9 minutes and I used the big size Madeleine pan.

Sour Cream Coffee Cake III

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2010
The bread is a little doughy and I don't like the consistency. Flavor was ok. This recipe is a little better that the original sour cream coffee cake. I will not do it again.

Soft, Moist and Gooey Cinnamon Buns

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2010
They are ok but they are nothing special. They taste like the ones you buy frozen at the stores. I followed the recipe to a T and the gooey stuff overflowed all over the pan leaving the buns almost dry. The bread was ok (I did it with a mixer because I don't have a bread machine). My husband asked me not to make them again... he says he rather be honest than having to eat them again.

Morning Glory Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2010
I followed the recipe to a T. The recipe skips a step where you combine all ingredients... So I read and followed a custom recipe and just combined all ingredients until moist. I liked the muffin but it was a bit too moist. The crust was too soft to even handle it. I should have left it in the over longer so it would bake a thicker, firmer crust.

Sour Cream Coffee Cake III

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2010
The taste is nice but the consistency is doughy. The edges cooked nicely and crunchy but the middle was way too doughy (and I baked it longer than it called for). I will not do it again.

Crackle Top Molasses Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
I don't like spices... and I was very tempted to folllow other reviewers' suggestions on cutting down spices... DON'T!!! These cookies are amazing!! I am glad I did not change a thing on the recipe. I never expected to love the spicyness of these cookies. I love crunchy cookies, and if you do too, bake them for 14 minutes and use a rack to cool them. Thank you for such an amazing cookie. This is exactly what I've been craving for.

Really good! I liked it. One of my brothers said he did not like it (but he finished the big piece I served him... explain that to me!) and my other brother loved it and took the leftovers home. Thanks!
