Cider Cheese Fondue

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
I made this tonight to preview it for a party that my 6th grader is having. One of the guests cannot have gluten, so I needed a recipe without flour. The kids loved it, so we'll definitely use it for the party. My husband and I thought the cheeses were too mild tasting, but it will be perfect for 11 and 12 year old girls. We dipped bread, apples, celery, broccoli, and kielbasa slices in and called it dinner.

Baked Garlic Green Beans

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
I made them with fresh green beans and balsamic vinegar, and got good reviews each time. I tripled the recipe, as I was serving to more than 2 each time.

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2010
We loved this, and it is difficult to find a recipe to please our entire family. As some reviewers suggested, I added the cheese for the last 10-15 minutes. I also used real bacon, and browned the chicken in the bacon grease. Tasty, and can't wait for the leftovers! I wish I had made it with pasta, because the extra sauce (I only used 4 chicken breasts) would be great on pasta.

Korean Barbequed Beef

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
This was in the Baltimore Sun about 10 years ago. Since that time, friends and I have made it when we get together, as it is so easy and we all LOVE it. (even the Korean friend whose dad is an amazing cook) I was always losing my copies, electronic and paper, so it's nice to know I have it saved here. I have made it without the chile paste for the kids, and it is still good that way.

Cheesy Corn Casserole

My husband and I really liked this, but our kids didn't. Next time, I will add some meat to make it a full meal.

Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
My dogs love these! I gave them out as holiday gifts, and my friends' dogs loved them too. I add more pumpkin and more PB. Way better than store bought treats.

Cheater Pot Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
This is easy, a great way to use leftovers, and a good way to finish the ends of the bags of veggies in the freezer. It is easily tailored to your family's likes. I made it with leftover turkey from Thanksgiving; used one can of soup, and leftover gravy instead of second can of soup and milk; used frozen onions, carrots and peas, and a bit of borccoli because that's what needed to be used up from the freezer. I also put a pie crust on the bottom because I had one leftover from making the Thanksgiving pies. It was a bit salty, so I suggest low sodium soup.

No Bake Cookies V

These were perfect, exactly as written. I boiled, stirring constantly, for 90 seconds from the start of boil. They set very quickly and easily and were delicious. I think a double batch will be necessary next time.

Pizza Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
My 9 year old made this for dinner tonight, and she LOVED it. She doesn't usually eat red sauce on pasta, so that's pretty good. (She left out the pepperoni because neither of my kids likes that.) My husband and I thought it was bland, though. Next time, we'll make it with Italian sausage instead of ground beef to add more flavor. We'll also try it with chicken, alfredo sauce, and some spinach. It's easy enough for a 4th grader to make though, so it gets good points from me!

Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
I really enjoyed making the the soup.It was delicous!I used spinach instead of zucchini. The above was written by my nine year old. We added some chopped onion, and substituted the spinach for the zucchini because she doesn't like it. It was very good, and so easy that she did it herself. Now she has one meal that she can make for the family, and she is searching for more.

Simple Texas Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2005
My extended family loves this salsa, and it's so easy to make it! There is never any left after a gathering. My sister first introduced us to it as part of a "theme" Christmas gift. After tasting it, my teenage nephews tried to take everyone else's home with them!

Paul's Pumpkin Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2003
These were a big hit at my house, even with my super picky 4 year old, and even without the frosting. I took some other people's advice, and used pumpkin pie spice instead of cinnamon, and I used Splenda instead of sugar. Very easy and very tasty.

Slow Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2003
This was much better than I had expected, and I will definitely make it again. I thought it would be too "tomatoey", but it wasn't at all. As others have suggested, I doubled the corn starch, added the peppers for the last 2 hours, added the dry onion soup mix, and didn't pre-cook the meat. Next time, I'd double or triple the peppers though.

Apple Crisp I

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2003
This was really quick and easy, and it smelled great while cooking! I also added some cinnamon like others suggested. To make the cutting and peeling go faster (like less than 5 minutes), I used the Apple Peeler/ Corer/ Slicer sold by Pampered Chef. (I don't sell their stuff, but that gadget is great for this kind of recipe.)

Greek Souzoukaklia
