Bacon Chicken and Dumplings

My mother used to make "Potato Dumplings" when I was a girl. They were made with quartered potatoes boiled in water with bacon pieces, and then she would make dumplings like the ones for "Chicken Dumplings", rolled out thin on the dough board and cut into thin slices. If we had any fresh English Peas in the garden, she would put some of these in, but we rarely did. She always said you only had two messes of English peas from a planting: one on the table and one in the garden.

Slow Cooker Chicken Pot Pie Stew

I made this recipe and halved it for a smaller batch. When I saw the TWO tablespoons of black pepper, I knew it was too much. I only put in 1/2 t. and it was too much. So I would say taste, and then season with pepper.

Tasty Baked Meatballs

These are really wonderful. I wrote down all the different sauces and gravies, to have a variety. I also think these would be incredible on top of scallopped potatoes to which sour cream and chives have been added. Just place on top and cook like your potato recipe says.

Creme Fraiche II

I love this. I make this during the week, when I am going to have baked potatoes, or need sour cream. It is sooooo easy. I always forget that carton of sour cream that gets pushed to the back of the frig. You can double this if you need more. I always have the ingredients.

Minnesota Pork Chops

I prepared this recipe today. I used 3/4 cup of white rice and 1/4 c of black rice. Also, I deglazed the pan with 1/2 cup of dry white wine, and added only 1 cup of water. I also cut the chicken boulion to 1 pkt. We loved this recipe. I will make it again!!!
