Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2014
I didn't have any buttermilk so I used yogurt thinned with a little milk. They were fantastic! I tasted one right off the griddle and didn't miss the syrup! Hearty, thick but not "heavy". Awesome breakfast for dinner.

Beer Margaritas

So I forgot the Sprite; I used 12 oz lemonade since that's all I had. I also found some frozen pureed mango in my freezer, added that too with an extra ounce or so of tequila. What an awesome Cinco de Mayo bebida, delicioso!

i'm so proud!! it was super easy, i did with 4 yolks, 2 cans condensed milk and between 3/4 and 1 cup key lime juice. i love key lime pie, this tastes as good if not better than any i've ever had. it even looked pretty, with fresh whipped cream piped on!

White Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2009
i didn't realize i didn't have buttermilk until well into the recipe, so i used regular. this cake is fantastic! i used half shortening for the cake (i find it makes for a more tender cake.) i followed advice and waited a day to eat, also added a thin layer of rasberry jam in between the layers. wonderful!

YUM. I roasted the garlic (we LOVE) and added 4 cloves; used greek seasonings and a little salt. It is FABULOUS on ciabatta with mayo and tomatoes!

Amazing Whole Wheat Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2005
SO GOOD, will never make another crust. Adds nice flavor! I followed others' advice and used all whole wheat flour, actually 3 1/4 cups total. AND, I used the dough cycle of my breadmaker! Made two thin crusts, yummmm...

Lemon Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2004
I made this for Easter dinner, everyone loved how cool, light and creamy it was. I made it using 3 disposable aluminum 8-inch round pans, anticipating problems removing them. NO PROBLEMS! I doubled the frosting recipe and had plenty, plus used lemon cake mix and lemon pudding mix throughout at the suggestion of previous reviewers. It was great, thanks!

Sweet and Sour Sauce I

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2004
OK, based on alllllll the other reviews, here's what I did: replaced cider for the white vinegar, used 1/2 c. brown sugar & 1/4 c. white, less than 1/8 c. soy sauce, 1/3 c. water and about 1/2 c. pineapple juice. WONderful! I also added the cornstarch after the other ingredients, dissolved into a few tbsns. of sauce, plus added pineapple and green pepper chunks. The only thing I will do differently next time is to add some carrots! Thanks for all the tips-

MMMMMM... If you DO like sweeter drinks, try adding equal parts sour mix to the infused vodka in addition to the 1 part rasberry...sweeter, tangier (is that a word?) YUM.

Baked Chicken with Peaches

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2003
It wasn't horrible, but not impressive at all. The chicken itself was rather bland (um, 'scuse me, where's the salt??) It was edible but I don't need to make it again. There's a whole world of easy chicken recipes out there!

Cranberry Hootycreeks

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2003
Wonderful! Jar recipients raved--of course, I had to "test" the recipe before giving any jars away. Different, good. I cut the sugar and the salt a bit, but otherwise it makes a wonderful presentation and it's yummy.

I like! I'm pregnant and was looking for a quick, easy, wholesome breakfast. Found the recipe yesterday and made them last night. I added some butterscotch morsels as well. Considering the household ingredients and ease of making, they are quite good, moist. I recommend!

Mongolian Beef I

Loved it. Didn't have any sesame seeds, probably would have been even better. I did add 1/2 small cabbage with the carrots, thinly sliced (like lotsa veggies.) I recommend it, not too difficult--but I agree, chop ahead of time.
