I’m a recent college graduate that never had the time or money to put together well thought out meals (not that I do now as a young professional either). Anyway, cooking for me always consisted of throwing whatever was handy into a pot/pan/bowl/whatever was handy, spicing it up and hoping it turned out alright (usually did!). I’ve always been into fresh and healthy foods and foods with lots of flavor. By joining allrecipes I am hoping to turn my spontaneous cooking style into some real cooking skills...
My favorite things to cook
HUGE fan of anything with some spice. Currently loving curry pastes, fresh chilis, cilantro and basil.
My favorite family cooking traditions
As a family, we would go Asian and Hispanic markets, buy things that looked "oh intersting" and then figuring out how to cook them later! My mom (with limited help from my brother, father and I) would then make the most amazing meals without a recipe! I strive to be as creative and intuitive cook as my mother.
My cooking tragedies
Still trying to master using my charcoal grill. Determined to do so.
