Cookie Mix in a Jar III

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2005
These were great cookies. The recipe is correct when it states that you *need* a quart sized jar - I tried my best to sqeeze it into something smaller but it just didn't go. The cookies themselves were moist and flavourful!

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

These were great - very similar to the ones at a popular chain restaurant that my family loves!

Ham Bone Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2005
This was very good. I added a bunch of other veggies such as zucchini, carrots, and green beans. I also put in a larger can of kidney beans than the recipe states and added a cup or so of Great Northern beans. I used less chicken boullion squares than the recipe asked for - my cubes are one cube for two cups of water therefore I only used 2 cubes. It was very tasty in the end and even my daughter ate it (she's pretty picky).

Easy Morning Glory Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2005
I didn't add the coconut because no one in our family likes it or the nuts because I wanted to send them in my daughter's lunch and her school is nut-free so I substituted dried cranberries and they still came out quite well. I also halved the oil and used applesauce in the oil's place, as well as made them out of whole wheat flour. All in all, they were very good muffins.

White Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2005
We found that the cookies came out really hard. The only modification that I did was half whole-wheat flour and half white. I do this to most of my cookie recipes and it doesn't usually make them hard, so I don't think that was the reason why they were hard.

Banana Cream Pie III

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2005
It was okay, but if I make it again, I think I'll use banana pudding instead.

Quiche Lorraine I

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2004
This was very good. I altered it a little by using ham instead b/c it was easier for the baby to chew. I did find that the egg/cream mixture was just too much for the quiche, so I used the leftovers in the Spinach quiche. If I was only making one quiche, I might use a make a little less of the egg/cream mixture.

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2004
What a great quiche! I couldn't find herb and garlic feta so I just used regular feta. I was also making Quiche Lorraine II at the same time and I had left over eggs from that one so I used them in here instead of the eggs and milk called for. Even my 4 yo loved this quiche and now goes around telling everyong he likes spinach!

Tuna Noodle Casserole II

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2004
It was pretty good. I added some sauteed onions and some frozen veggies (gotta hide those where I can for the kids!) and it was pretty good. The kids loved the fact that there were potato chips on top!

Maureen's Baked Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2004
I used different beans (20 oz Kidney, 20 oz butter, and 20 oz Romano beans) and it still came out fantastic. I added a big squirt of our favourite BBQ sauce as well, which really enhanced the flavour. Thanks for a great recipe that the whole family loved!
