Spiced Quinoa

This was very good even with the pine nuts left out as I didn't have any.

Blueberry Cornmeal Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
These were very yummy and dredging the blueberries was definitely needed (which I did). I also followed the other reviewers' advice to increase the cornmeal to 3/4 of a cup. I replaced the wheat flour with a gluten-free mixture and it worked well. I also used oil instead of the melted butter and I used rice milk instead of cow's milk (which I made into "rice buttermilk" by adding vinegar). They turned out quite yummy!

Honey-Garlic Glazed Meatballs

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
They were very good but I doubled the sauce and felt it was just a little too much sauce. But the recipe itself was great!

Creamy Hot Cocoa

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
It was very good and a lot stronger than the typical store bought mixes. My kids were a big fan of it and it worked well in almond milk as well (which I had made half the recipe with).

Chicken Chili Hash With Peppers & Cilantro

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
This was a great recipe with only a few changes needed. I did in fact have to cook the potatoes longer than the recipe stated. To the seasoning mixture, I added garlic powder, paprika and oregano. And when I added the seasoning and chicken mixtures back in with the potatoes, I also tossed in a small can of kidney beans. Then I scrambled up some eggs to serve on top. We had it for supper tonight and the best part was that everyone in my large family found something in it to like! We will definitely make it again!

Joey's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2008
This was a great recipe! I subbed the wheat flour for spelt and the white sugar for organic cane sugar, used rice milk instead of regular milk and crunchy natural peanut butter. The only thing I noticed is that the batter was really runny so I added a bit of extra flour. They were a hit! Thanks!

Michelle's Famous Washed Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2008
This is an exeptionally good cranberry sauce! I usually hate the ones from the cans but this is so good I can eat it on leftover biscuits! The recipe is easy enough for my 4 year old to help on!

Chocolate Spiders

These were neat-looking and fun to make although not as tasty as I had hoped. But the kids loved them for the sheer novelty!

Maple Salmon

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2008
This salmon was pretty good although I would have liked more of a maple flavour.

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2008
I used spelt flour as we have a wheat intolerance in our family. The muffins were very tasty although a little bit too sweet for my tastes.

Blue Cornmeal Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
These were really good. I used rice milk and non-dairy margarine, as we have a dairy allergy in our family, and yellow cornmeal and they turned out great. Thanks!
