Shrimp Linguine

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
I didn't have fresh herbs or garlic, and I used reduced fat sour cream. This was so good!! I will definitely be making this again!

Red Quinoa and Avocado Salad

So good, and so simple!! I've made this a few times with some slight variations. I have found that the recipe as written is the best!

Crackers a la Yvette

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
I have made this a few times, the first as written except with about 3 times as much crushed red pepper (we like it spicy). Since then I've used Chex cereal instead of and in combination with the oyster crackers, both with success. My one suggestion is let this sit for at least a few days before serving. The spice of the ranch and pepper takes at least that long to blend and absorb into the crackers or cereal.

Sangria! Sangria!

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
I didn't follow this recipe exactly, more like I used it as a guideline, with great results! I used the lemonade concentrate, orange juice, and triple sec as a base. For everything else I just used what I had, lambrusco (not a dry red), chardonnay (to make up for the sweet red), and Yukon Jack instead of brandy (that's just what I had). I didn't add any additional sugar, but it didn't need it! I added a splash of seltzer water to each glass when served. It was a big hit!!

Allspice Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
WAY TOO MUCH SUGAR! All I tasted was sugar, and I used 8 oz. of cream cheese. Next time I will try it with half the sugar if not less.

Great for a summer day! I was skeptical about this at first, but the risk panned out! Very tasty!

Good, easy recipe. Nothing outstanding, but good flavor. The fire-roasted tomatoes are a must!

Stuffed Strawberries

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
Maybe I just don't have enough patience for these, but I didn't think the taste was worth all the work. Halfway through I ended up globbing the cream cheese mix on top of the strawberries. I did add mini chocolate chips and sprinkled with cocoa powder.

Chex® Lemon Buddies

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2012
The lemon flavor was very refreshing! I had the same problem as other reviewers with this tasting rather stale. After the first day (even with storing it in an air-tight container) this staleness just got worse. Make sure you serve this sometime when it will all be eaten at once! I did bake it as others recommended, and it was the very best right when it came out of the oven!

Breakfast Pies

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
These were so easy and tasty!! I used bacon instead of sausage, but can't wait to try this with different variations! I had no problems with the filling spilling over, but I used a baking pan with the square cups.

Maybe I made this wrong, but these flavors didn't go well together at all to me!! I will not try this again!

YUM! Great flavor!! The only change I made was to use about half the butter and add a little olive oil instead.

The lemon was refreshing, the jalapeno was just enough spice! This was quick and easy, and had a nice flavor!

Cake Mix Cookies I

These are awesome! There are so many combinations for this! I tried yellow and chocolate cake mixes. The yellow cake was softer and puffy where the chocolate was somewhat flat.

Brown Sugar Smokies

Not worth the work on my end. These were messy to make and clean up. They also smoked up the whole kitchen. The flavor was just ok too.

Spinach Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
Very good!! I took the advice of others and doubled the spinach and added turkey bacon and I can't imagine NOT doing it that way! I also sauteed the onions first. This had non-spinach-eaters raving at Thanksgiving dinner!
