No Bakes

Reviewed: May 18, 2015
I made this recipe with the proper measurements, but slight variations to the ingredients. For example: I only had Dutch processed cocoa, I used clarified butter (hence unsalted), natural peanutbutter (also minimal salt and did not have crunchy on hand nor the kind that has partially hydrogenated oils). So I'd like to say it turned out with just the right salt to sugar mix, but no such luck. I anticipated it to be a little sweeter and put about a teaspoon of salt, but just want to say the ingredients Will vary the taste and salt content. Hope that helps someone else out!

Hashbrown Breakfast Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2012
This is an amazing recipe. I even made it "vegetarian" once by adding seasoned black beans instead of the meat and it was still pretty awesome. However, I can't give this recipe 5 stars as is due to the problem with too much milk...like others' comments 3/4 C would be more appropriate along with a tad less oregano. Other than that, spot on for what I was looking for in a crowd pleaser bfast.

The chile peppers weren't available to me, so I omitted them. Still was awesome.

Asian Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2012
Good idea, but as someone who is opting for healthier options i tweaked it a lot, therefore I can only give it 3 stars. I also would recommend not using butter at all..it doesn't make any sense what with all the fat in sesame seeds and almonds. i used the following - dressing: 1/4 C oil, 3 T vin, 3 T sugar (boil) & add 2 T soy sauce Salad: 1/2 box wheat spaghetti (pre-boiled), 1/2 C roasted almonds & 2 tsp roasted sesame seeds (mix). 3-4 C spring mix and 1 bunch chopped green onions, shredded carrots, and/or other shredded vegetables on hand to mix. Toss to Coat.

Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2012
My husband is a carnivore, but this salad dressing is his ABSOLUTE favorite. However I followed the first rater's advice of salt&pepper to the garlic and it was brilliant. The kraft dressings in the fridge are put to shame. Easy, great and simple ingredients, right up our ally and my carnivore husband now can consume salads without the tug of war.
