Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2014
I made this exactly as written, without eggs, and it was very dry. When I mixed the oil and sugar together, as instructed, I thought that it looked dry but figured that the zucchini added the moisture that eggs would. This did not happen. I ate a bit of this because I was desperate for a brownie, but I will not make these again.

Traditional Gyro Meat

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2012
I have tried cooking this recipe at the temp and time suggested and the meat is no where close to being done. Also, I am not impressed by the flavor profile nor texture - it is nothing like restaurant gyros I have had. I used the measurements for all ingredients as given in the recipe.

Roasted Turkey Legs

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2012
While this may be a perfectly good recipe, the cooking time is way short. I started out w/thawed legs and cooked them at 350 degs for 2 hrs and they were tough, like they weren't done well enough (I did check internal temp). I like my turkey meat to fall off the bone and these were far from that.

Fresh Spring Rolls With Thai Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2012
AWESOME! First time trying to make something like this and it was a huge success. I used cole slaw mix w/carrots instead of lettuce for more crunch and omitted the cilantro because I don't like it. The best part was the sauces that I used, jarred sweet chili and the simple peanut sauce previously suggested. I didn't care for the Thai sauce offered w/this recipe but my husband liked it best. Will definitely make again!!

Chocolate Dream Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2011
Very disappointed! The bottom was mush and I cooked it about 3 times longer than the recipe called for. Since the bottom was mush, the Rice Krispy mixture didn't spread very well. I won't be making this again.

German Pancake with Buttermilk Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
I have had German pancake before that my mother-in-law has made and loved it but I must have done something terribly wrong making my own because mine was flat as a pancake and very heavy and my sauce was like caramel.

Meat Marinade

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
Terrific! I used this for New Year's Eve NY Strips w/company. Our guests loved the flavor the marinade added to the grilled meat. I marinaded in a plastic bag for 24 hrs in the refrigerator.

Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
Pretty good. I used fresh pumpkin that may have a different flavor than canned unseasoned pumpkin as I found these kind of blah. I did add the recommended pumpkin pie spice (1 tsp), used 2 tsp brown sugar for the streudel and veg oil instead of olive oil. Definitely would consider making these again, though maybe w/canned pumpkin.

Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2010
Terrific! First time making my own salad dressing and this was a hit. Did not include the salt and it was fine. Great on spinach salad w/red onion, mandarin oranges and tomato.

Karyn's Cream of Crab Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
This soup was AWESOME! I did add the onion and celery and increased the sherry as recommended by another reviewer, but hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed this soup; definitely make again!
