Solid base. Forget the cream, replace it with a can of coconut milk. Definitely play around with the seasoning-- whoever suggested the cumin, turmeric, cinnamon, nutmeg, coriander, cloves combo was GENIUS. I halved the jalapeno so my 9 year old wouldn't freak out, and it still had a great flavor you could feel on your tongue after the meal was over. Also tossed in some mushrooms in the last 10 minutes. Next time, RAISINS! I used baby Dutch potatoes, quartered them, and STILL found them a little firm, so adding the coconut milk right away might not be a bad idea to cook them fully. The flavor is fantastic, and it's a warm and wonderfully filling dish even without meat in it (but my 11 year old requests chicken next time.)
