As the holidays draw closer, those of us who struggle with our weight begin to stress out! The next two months are nothing but company parties, family dinners, friendly get-togethers and more. With all these "celebrations" comes the on slaught of food
I am also an avid dog lover! I just recently adopted a Blue Heeler. I am waiting for him to turn a year old. Then I can start him on agility training and put to rest some of the high energy he has!
My favorite things to cook
One of my favorite things to do is take a favorite high calorie food and recreate it to a less fattening, lower calorie food. Then not telling my family that I did. (Hee! Hee!)
My favorite family cooking traditions
One of our favorite traditions is for everyone to pick a favorite dish for their birthday or holiday then I make it. Sometimes it gets challenging.
My cooking triumphs
Anytime I can pull together a major meal and get it on the table with everything the right temp, that is a cooking triumph.
My cooking tragedies
The Thanksgiving that I had my Dad buy my grocery list. My family and I drove 2 hours to make him a Thanksgiving dinner. We were having Key Lime pie for dessert. It wouldn't set in the oven. And I couldn't figure out why. I had made it numerous times before with no issues. Embarrassed, I started to throw away the pie. When I opened the trash can, I saw the empty container of evaporated milk....not condensed milk. God bless my family, they "drank" the pie that night.
