Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2014
This was delicious, easy, and flexible. I used ground turkey, chicken broth, frozen mixed veggies, pepper jack cheese, and red potatoes because it's what I had on hand. I did use about a quarter of a teaspoon of salt in the ground turkey mix and some Worcestershire sauce for flavor. I made the mashed potatoes my usual way, with a whole lot of butter, some milk and some garlic, salt and pepper to taste. While my son rated it 4 stars, I give it 5 stars for flexibility and being an easy weeknight dinner, especially if you make the potatoes and/or ground meat mix ahead of time. I'll be making this again. :) Thanks, Jacquie.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2014
This was a wonderful recipe! The kids said this is their favorite soup and asked if we can have this soup every week! Of course, I'm not good at following directions, so I made these changed: added 3 cloves garlic, used chicken broth instead of water, added zero salt, added carrots, extra celery, potatoes, onions and ham. I will be making this again, and if it reheats well tomorrow, I will be doubling the recipe next time I make it! Which will be next week, if the kids have their way.

Whipped Cream

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2014
Delicious and super easy. I put my stand mixer bowl and whisk in the freezer for about 20 minutes. I halved the recipe and it only took about 3 minutes. I did add twice the sugar per other reviewers.

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2013
I have used this recipe a few times, trying both all-purpose flour and bread flour. This dough comes together nicely and is easy to work with. It isn't necessary to let the dough rise (30 minutes), but it helps. This dough is enough for two medium 14" thin(ish) crust pizzas. I also like to brush the dough with butter and garlic before adding toppings. YUM :)

Pumpkin-Oat Scones

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2013
These were perhaps more cake-y than what is technically considered a scone, but I prefer it that way :) These were great. I added 1/4 cup of brown sugar to the recipe. After the frosting, these were just the perfect amount of sweetness. My 9 year old son says they taste just like the ones at The Coffee Shop That Shall Not Be Named. I loved the texture the oats gave them. We will be making these again. :) Thanks for the recipe!

The Perfect Cinnamon Roll Icing

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2013
Tasted great on our cinnamon rolls ("90 minute cinnamon rolls," from this site). This was easy enough for my 9 year old to make with a little supervision.

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2013
I made this with my 9 year old and we loved it! We used butter instead of margarine and baked in a 9x13 glass pan. We iced them using "The Perfect Cinnamon Roll Icing" from this site. Also, being the first time trying this recipe and the first time using yeast, it surprisingly took close to only 90 minutes! We'll be making this again. Thanks for the awesome recipe :)

Balsamic-Glazed Salmon Fillets

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2014
Used lemon instead of wine and sprinkled dried oregano because it's what I had on hand. My 10-year-old said it was the best salmon he's ever had!

Spiced Raisin Mini Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2010
Used apples instead of raisins (we were all out), and these turned out fantastic! Very moist, and the glaze was just the perfect touch. Edit: Made again with peaches; very, very tasty. Didn't need the glaze. Used 2 cups of fruit both times

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2013
This is my go-to recipe for chocolate chip cookies. I under-cook them by a few minutes and they are oh so soft and scrumptious. Edit: I tried this using chocolate flavored pudding, and it is still just as wonderful. Also, I cook them for 8-10 minutes and pull them out when they don't even look done. I let them cool for a bit on a wire rack, and they are delicious and gooey then but even better the next day. They taste like the soft and chewy cookies from chips ahoy.

Used some beef consommé, less chicken broth, and added garlic. Also added extra wine. Perhaps the best French Onion Soup I've ever had.
