Native Californian; married 25 years - wonderful husband, two boys. Recent college graduate, gainfully employed with the hopes of someday having a job that feels like a hobby.
My favorite things to cook
Pasta and sauces. Stews, soups. Breads and desserts. Anything easy and creative -- did I say easy -- prefer recipes with 6 ingredients or less. Yummy crock pot dinners equals more time with the family and less time in the kitchen.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Roast Beef on Sunday, Chocolate birthday cakes, Raisin Bread whenever, Corn Beef and Cabbage with green beer on St. Patties Day. Sugar Cookies on Christmas Eve and Roast Turkey on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
My cooking triumphs
Biscotti, Chicken pasta salad to die-for (it was made by the seat of my pants and haven't been able to replicate it since -- oh, well.) The perfect sweet and sour cole-slaw. Lettuce wraps. Homemade gravy that everyone begs for on the holidays~oh yeah! Recently, steak that is tasty and not dry!!
My cooking tragedies
Too many too mention; I mostly remember the comments of: "Mom, don't make this again" or "this is not a keeper" I consider my "boys" my test kitchen and harshest critics. Thank goodness for them.
