About this Cook
I got my love of cooking from my mother, who was the best cook I've ever known. My dear mother passed away 21 years ago at a very young age of 61, and I miss her every day. When I cook, especially some of her own recipes, it makes me think of her and I feel part of her is always with me. From my love of cooking, my daughters also have become good cook's. Now, my precious 2 1/2 year old grandaughter is already expressing alot of interest in helping.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook all types of food - I try just about anything. I can't say I really have a favorite.

Cheesy Sausage Pasta
I have no clue why anyone would give a bad rating to a recipe judging solely by a picture - which the author of the recipe did not even submit. Guess that's why I don't always go by the rating when looking for a recipe!! This is a fantastic recipe as is.

Skillet Zucchini
I made this recipe exactly as listed and it was the best zucchini recipe I've every tried. It did not turn out mushy or even unattractive. I did not cut my vegetables real thin and made sure not to overcook - so they did not get too soft. This was so delicious that I just went and bought more vegetables to make another batch. As others have written, you could eliminate the butter and use low fat cheese and make it a little healthier. (I'm not sure what the taste tradeoff would be). Thanks for a wonder recipe Mrs. Shockley.

German Pancake with Buttermilk Sauce
I have not made the pancake yet however did make the Buttermilk sauce - which is really like syrup and it is the best tasting syrup/sauce for pancakes, waffles, etc. I have ever tasted. Excellent - it would be great in a variety of ways. I will defintely hold on to this recipe and probably try the pancake soon.
