Marinated Tuna Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2014
This was good, but I had to add some brown sugar to make it less tangy and a little more sweet. Just personal preference - we like the sweeter teriyaki sauce. Otherwise followed the recipe. Cooked down leftover marinade and poured over the tuna steak. Will make it again.

Broiled Parmesan-Lemon Tilapia

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2014
4 stars because I changed is slightly. Used Citrus Grill seasoning since I didn't have Miami style, so I left lemon out since it was already in the seasoning. Didn't use any other seasoning. Added some Old Bay to the mayo/cheese mix - the fish was great!

Broccoli and Ramen Noodle Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2014
4 stars because I don't use the vinegar, oil, and sugar dressing - I use the Kraft Asian dressing, and sometimes I throw in a can of drained mandarin oranges. DO NOT COOK THE NOODLES they add crunch. Because they absorb the dressing, use only what you need, otherwise they will get mushy after a while. Love this salad!

My Best Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2014
Something is just off. Too much flour maybe? Made as written except fried bacon and added that to the veggies. Had a very fishy taste, but other than that was kind of bland.

Savory Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2013
Only 4 stars because I make mine a little different. I use 1/2 soup can of white wine and mix with the soup, and I put stovetop stuffing croutons on top instead of breadcrumbs, then drizzle butter on top. So good!

Slow Cooker Ham

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2012
Was very good and easy. Followed the recipe and since I had a few pineapple chunks leftover, I threw them on top. Loved it! But watch the time-I had a 5.5 lb ham and after 4 hours it was a bit dry.

4 stars because I had to change a few things. Used diet Dr. Pepper (all I had). didn't have beef gravy, but used bouillion and water, then thickened it. Put in celery, potatos, carrots, garlic. Awesome flavor! Used a chuck roast - melted in your mouth.

Ma Lipo's Apricot-Glazed Turkey with Roasted Onion and Shallot Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2011
Didn't give it 5 stars because it was changed slightly. Used a small turkey (11 lbs), but kept the herb butter and glaze as written. didn't make the gravy. We made this in a roaster, so the glaze didn't get brown, but it had great flavor! The herb butter gave the turkey great flavor and we roasted it breast-down so the meast was nice and moist. Brushed glaze on, then served reserved glaze at the table so we could spread it on our meat as desired. will definitely make again!

Brownie Biscotti

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
We made these using a brownie mix, then followed directions to bake. Only gave 4 stars because we didn't make the brownies using the recipe. Turned out great - making again to put into a nice container for a gift.

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2011
The recipe should have stated not to use salted butter. It was very salty. It was also grainy. even though I slowly whisked the cream into the melted butter and slowly added the cheese while whisking. Probably won't make again. I liked the jar suce better.

Ice Cream Base

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2011
This had very good flavor. I didn't give it 5 stars because I changed it a bit - instead of 1 cup sugar, I used 1/2 cup sugar and a small box of vanill pudding. I also added a Tbsp of vanilla. It cooked up great - hardest part was not eating it as it cooled. Added some crushed oreos as it mixed in the ice cream maker. Really good!

Frozen Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2011
Made exactly as directed. They weren't dry or crumbly, tasted like cookie dough. Next time I'll add a pinch of salt, just to see if it makes a difference. My kids loved them!

Very good, especially when warm from the oven! Made as directed, except I used mint and chocolate chips instead of chocolate chunks and creme de menthe chips. Very easy to make!

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Made as written with the exception of cream of tartar - didn't have any so I used 1 tsp lemon juice - tasted great. No lemon flavor at all. Cracked, crispy outside, chewey inside. Good cookie!

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
I changed it slightly, but not enough to make much of a difference, I used frozen chicken breasts, right into the crock pot with the butter and Italian dressing mix. Cooked on high for 2 hours, until chicken shredded. Added cr of chix soup, 8 oz cr cheese, a few dashes of worstershire, and 2 tablespoons of sour cream. Turned to low for 1/2 hour. It was wonderful! definately will make again!
