About this Cook
Stay at home Mom with a little girl and a picky husband. I love cooking and trying new recipes and don't consider hamburger helper a dinner option.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking, making soups, marinades, and big salads.
My favorite family cooking traditions
over cooking for parties, making way too much food, and making up recipes.
My cooking triumphs
Getting any cooking done at all with a toddler
My cooking tragedies
learning that you never substitue butter when a cookie recipe calls for shortening.

Strawberry Spinach Salad I
Great base for an amazing salad. I add a lot more items (carrots, cucumber, raspberries, mandarin oranges, gorgonzola cheese, and chicken) but the dressing is very mild and good. I usually add cracked black pepper to the top as well.

Best Ever Banana Bread
Not what I would think of as a traditional banana bread with the changes many recommend, but its very good. I did the recommended 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar, subbed apple sauce for oil, sprinkle of cinnamon, and a tiny bit of vanilla. Its so good!
