Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2014
I always read a recipe and the reviews before I make it. This one has a method which calls for putting the yeast in with the salt. Salt can kill yeast according to my bread machine book and Julia Child. I believe the failures (1 star reviews) originate from the salt/yeast issue along with the small space allowed by most muffin tins. I held out the salt until the yeast had been incorporated and baked in an ordinary 9" by 11" pan. I also used more cinnamon and some pecans along with the raisins. This made good cinnamon rolls.

Savory Breakfast Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2012
This is a good recipe. My family loved them. I make the recipe as written first. Then I add or subtract ingredients. I think next time I will add onion and some cheese. However this is a good recipe. The only thing I didn't have is wheat germ. I use it seldom and didn't have any on hand. Thanks for a wonderful recipe.

Indian Style Sheekh Kabab

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2012
This is a comment about methods to keep the meat from rotating when you turn them or falling off the skewers. At middle eastern markets (if you have one near you) one can buy metal skewers that are flat and a scant half inch wide. Forming the ground meat around these is much easier and relatively failsafe. A second method is to use 2 skewers (well soaked bamboo or wood). While the meat will easily rotate on a single skewer, it usually will not using 2 skewers. I have not made this recipe but gave it 5 stars based on ingredients. I am sure it would be very good, but I have a recipe that I have used for years that is a little different.

Classic Goulash

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2011
This is very good. It is good the first time and even better the second day. I have made a version of this for years. When I was a kid (eons ago) we called this Spaghetti Red and seasoned it with chili powder. On the rare occasion when I visit my sister 1,000 miles away, she still makes that as a "welcome home" meal. I never thought about using soy sauce. It works! Thanks for the recipe.
