Have enjoyed creating dishes since about 5 years of age when parents encouraged my interest in cooking with a real, electric miniature stove. Amazing how many dishes can be created from bread, peanut butter, apples, and graham crackers. :-) Now retired with more discretionary time and I delight in preparing delicious meals for my loving wife, family and friends.
Years of arthritis and bad back forced me to focus on quick-prep dishes to minimize time on my feet. Now that I have a new lease on life with a new lumbar I can spend more time on my feet and expand my repertoire.
My favorite things to cook
Anything simple, fresh, quick and tasty.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Very few long lasting traditions - love to try new things. Make a pot of veggie soup each week to enjoy for lunches - about 20 veggies and herbs. Great way to get vitamins and good nutrition and fiber.
My cooking triumphs
Too many to count, according to those who eat my creations.
My cooking tragedies
Trying to save money in college with my grandmother's depression-era cookbook. Peanut butter bean casserole and boiled beef kidney. OMG they were awful. Had to clear out of our little housetrailer while the stench of the boiled kidney dissipated.
