Me & My favorite Critic!
About this Cook
I have been baking for over 20 years, it started as baking Birthday cakes for my now grown children. It turned into a part time job that I love very much!
My favorite things to cook
Pastries, Cakes, Cookies, Brownies & anything I can put on a grill.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Grandmother never measured anything when she baked. She would add a little of this and a little more of that until she thought is perfect.
My cooking triumphs
Baking & hand carving 3D cakes before there were ever 3D pans. :)
My cooking tragedies
My lessons learned are: NEVER get water in your chocolate when melting and NEVER get it too hot! It will seize up on you!

Be Prepared Five-Bean Soup Mix
This had SO much flavor! I made a big pot. I used the dried bag of mixed beans, soaked over night. Served it with Lamb chops. The flavors of the two were amazing. Tonight, I decided to take the left over lamb chops, chop them up and mix them with the bean soup. You couldn't ask for a more flavorful, healthy dinner! Thank you so much for the recipe!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
I did not vary from the recipe at all. It turned out a watery mess. Not sure why. I ended up taking off the lattice & adding cornstarch to thicken the sauce.

Kentucky Biscuits
I don't like any biscuit except KFC, never have. This recipe is PERFECT! Hints: I only kneaded the dough 12 times (fold in half, punch, fold in half punch, etc..) I used a cheese grater & grated my frozen stick of UNSALTED butter until ready to use. This saves you from having to cut butter into the mix (which produces uneven pieces. Right after the biscuits came out I brushed them with melted butter (a little salt added). Just printed this recipe & added to my Grandmothers recipe book she handed down to me.
