About this Cook
For me, home is where the heart is, and my heart is in my kitchen! My family consists of my boyfriend and our 2 cats. He's very forgiving and up for anything I may try! I'm a big lover of comfort food, as well as Asian Inspired recipes. I'm getting my feet wet with more gourmet cooking. One of my favourite parts of meal prep is the presentation. I love to garnish and drizzle my way to a colourful, classy presentation.
My favorite things to cook
My boyfriend and I adore my Macaroni and Cheese Recipe, my Pepper Maple Chicken, stuffed peppers, chili, peanut butter cookies, garlic roasted potatoes, and we both make up a mean fried rice! While I've successfully tried out some unique and more gourmet recipes, I find that perfecting family favourites, as well as putting your own signature into them, can be almost as challenging! Everyone's had the 'perfect' potato salad, shepherd's pie, scalloped potatoes, steak marinade, etc.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My boyfriend and I look forward to creating some kitchen memories! Peanut-Butter-Cup-Brownies for Christmas, Chili for hockey games, Stuffed Peppers on Monday nights are some favourites. I'll never forget Scotch Eggs on Christmas morning with my Mum, and her mac n cheese recipe that I've cracked!
My cooking triumphs
My first triumph was making a Mac and Cheese that trumped my boyfriend's grandmother's (Shhhh)! Second was that Roast Chicken...perfect skin, perfectly moist, perfectly seasoned. I think when you can close your eyes and imagine it was made by someone else, without stressing over the flavours, you've got it. Also love my Chicken Divan and one-dish meals.
My cooking tragedies
Ooo...The infamous Cream of Broccoli Soup. Terrible. *shakes head*

Home Style Macaroni and Cheese
I used 3 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar, and used only half the cream-cheese (add a drizzle more of milk). I'm not really a fan of breadcrumbs, but my bf loves the topping. So, I spread breadcrumbs (already toasted, from the store) on a baking sheet, drizzle melted butter (or olive oil) over them and bake in preheated oven for less than 4 minutes. Makes them extra crispy without that mealy texture.

Chickpea Macaroni Salad
Perfect! I wouldn't do a thing to the flavouring (That's crazy, coming from me!). Feel free to add other veg, but this is a perfect recipe. HOWEVER, I hate macaroni pasta, so I went with fusili.
