Spicy Tomato Bisque with Grilled Brie Toast

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2013
I had to suit it to my own tastes (and what was in my fridge, because I didn't plan ahead. Still tasted great. I'll make it again. Instead of brie I used havarti because my guy isn't a fan of the pungent french cheese.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2013
They're just like the ones you buy at the big, expensive coffee chains! With a cup of apple cider, no better way to spend a chilly, miserable fall day.

World's Easiest Bread Machine Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2012
I left out the cilatro (because the other half and I aren't really fans) and was very satisfied with it. I will use this recipe again. Not only was it incredibly easy to handle (a little flour and there was no sticking) but I was able to use it for pizza on the Saturday and then panzorottis on the Sunday. I am incredibly pleased and look forward to trying other options (pizza dippers, anyone? Stuffed with mozzarella?) with this dough. I did let mine sit and rise covered in plastic for several hours (more than the 30 minutes suggested by the author) and found a very flavourful, easy to work with dough at the end.

Classic Vanilla Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2012
I quite liked this one. I mixed it with some cookie dough at the very end to make home made cookie dough ice cream and it tastes just like a major fast food resturants cookie dough concoction (and I should know; I used to work there!). I will definitely be making this one again, and again, and again. The mix in options are endless! Going to try Oreos next.

Crackle Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2012
I loved them. My co workers loved them. My boyfriend loved them. I'm guessing that "9 servings" means 3 cookies for each person, because I had close to 30 cookies by the time I was done (which I was totally cool with - you're gonna want seconds!). I opted for using cocoa rather than chocolate chips and the recipe turned out fabulous. Can't wait to make them again!

Chocolate Frozen Yogurt

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2012
Holy was this awesome! I had been hesitant because I've had issues melting chocolate for ice cream (in the past I've ended up with a very grainy mix) but this was awesome. It is super smooth. I made it with Vanilla flavoured yogurt so I cut back the amount of sugar (I'm also not an overly sweet loving person). I think I might have also ODed on the corn starch, but added some homo milk and that seemed to sort it out. All in all, I will make this again for sure! Oh man, it is a delicious way to end a hard day!

Bittersweet Chocolate and Stout Beer Ice Cream

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2012
I've made it twice now, and the texture just doesn't seem to be working out for me. I will likely continue to tweak the recipe (ie the second time I added more cream and cut the beer in half) as time goes on because I liked the taste, but the texture just wasn't... smooth or creamy as I would like my ice cream to be.

Chili Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2012
The cookies themselves were fine, just not my taste. I might make them again, but if you like the taste of chili and chocolate, you will like these cookies.

Brownie Biscotti

I made these for Christmas time, put a few in everyone's cookie basket, and they were a huge hit. I will make these again for sure.

Amazing Banana Sorbet

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2011
Disappointed. It tasted way too sweet for me, but if you like the super sugary stuff, it's awesome! Just not my taste.

Fettucine Carbonara

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2011
It was really good, but I cut the amount of bacon in half worrying that had I used 8 slices it would have been way too salty. As it was, the saltiness was perfect. My boyfriend reported that it was better the second day when it took it for to work as leftovers.

Blueberry Walnut Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2011
I loved it. My boyfriend loved it. Oh man. I'm going out today and buying more blueberries to make it again! Only thing I changed is I bought fresh blueberries (they were on sale and cheaper than frozen) It's a little heavy, but a nice dessert type bread. YUMMY!

Five Minute Ice Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2011
It tasted really well, but the consistancy fell apart very fast. It went from being awesome, smooth and creamy to almost entirely melted in very short order. I will probably still make it again, though. Very tastey.

Awesome Spicy Beef Kabobs OR Haitian Voodoo Sticks

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
They were good. Not too spicy (I was hoping for more; I will double the spice next time), even my mom, not a spicy person, liked them! Grilled them up on the BBQ and the whole patio smelt delicious! Served with roasted potatoes and veggies (also done on the BBQ) and the dinner was a raving hit!

Spinach-Cheese Swirls

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
I dropped the onions (as I do from everything that requires them, because I cannot stand them! Yuck!) but they were awesome none the less! I am planning my house warming, and these will definately be on the menu; they can be prepared ahead of time and just baked on the fly. I love it!

Slow Cooker Texas Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
Ama-zing! I'm not even a big pork person, but this was awesome. I threw in some spicy thai chili sauce (because it was on hand) and served it as pulled pork over ramen noodles rather than buns, but I will try it as a sandwich too. SO GOOD! Seriously; mouth is watering just thinking of it.

St. Louis Toasted Ravioli

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
PARTY PLEASER! They're an awesome little toasty finger food for parties or guests. I can't wait for BBQ season to start and I can toss these out on the table while we grill up some steaks and sausages. I have made these several times since, and will continue making them. I keep frozen ravioli on hand for just such a need. lol

Grandma's Meatloaf

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
Pretty good. I dropped the onions (I don't like them) and mushrooms (boyfriend hates them), and used an extra egg (I found it a little dry before cooking). I'll make it again.

Garbanzo Bean Chocolate Cake (Gluten Free!)

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
For what it is, a gluten-free/healthier version of chocolate cake, it was freaking amazing! I am not gluten intollerant, but one of my co-workers is, and she has such a hard time finding "normal" foods to eat (she's our parttimer, and only 16). I made this (super easy, by the way) cake for her, and she loved it, and so did everyone else. My boyfriend, pretty opinionated and reserved when trying "new things," and good friend, whose mother is a master baker, both enjoyed the cake. I already went and bought more supplies. I will be baking this again. I served mine with Chapman's (b/c it's nut-free) mint chip icecream. Yum!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
4.5 * I've made this recipe over and over again, and the cookies are a huge hit! The reason I sisn't give 5* is because I don't think the cooking time is long enough; after 15 minutes I found some of the cookies very under cooked in the middle. 17/18 min depending on how big they are. I'm into enduro and off road dirt bikes, and these puppies are a huge hit at the track with adults and kids, and my coworkers love them. "It just isn't fall until we get pumpkin cookies!" They are SO worth the effort (which really, isn't that much; they're very simple to make).
