Tropical Carrot-Apple Juice

I screwed around with the recipe since i didnt have pineapple, celery, ginger, nor a juicer, so i used a blender and added in some orange juice in place of what i was missing. The results came out pretty tasty and sweet enough to leave out the sugar.

Almond Rum Cake

I used the basis of this recipe to make a very rummy cake that came out super good. What I changed: Swap almond extract for equal amounts of rum extract. Leave out the lemon zest. Swap the 2 tsp. lemon juice for rum. leave out the almonds & use a rum glaze made with 3 tbsp butter, 3/4 cups brown sugar, 1/4 white sugar, and +-1/2 cup rum of your choice. Dissolve sugar in melted butter, remove from heat and stir in rum. Yum!

Authentic Thai Coconut Soup

I used this recipe as a base, with a couple changes: Since the shrimp's not too cool to eat here, (Thanks a lot BP!) i used scallops, clams, and tuna. I made the broth all the same, but ginger instead of galangal, zest instead of lime leaf, and left out the curry powder. when I cooked the clams, i used 1/4 cup water/coconut milk mix to steam em, and added all that juice to the soup as well. The tuna, i seared up a filet after marinating it in a oil/thai chili/lime sauce, thin sliced it, and laid it out on top the soup. Delicious! loved how it was all limey-fishy. My bf was super pleased to come home to that :)

Judy's Strawberry Pretzel Salad

It was alright. The crust stuck to the bottom of the glassware and made for terrible presentation but still tasted alright til it got soggy. Don't think I'll be makin this again though...

Pretty dang awesome. Taste is certainly 5 stars, but the proportions are way off, so thats why I'm giving it the 4 star rating. I'll definitely be making this again.

Been lookin' to find the best sweet tater pie recipe and I think this ones about right so long as you add in the appropriate spices. How can it not have spices besides vanilla? C'mon now!

Amaretto

O-M-G. Seriously, I'm an amaretto addict, and I don't care for vodka. But did this ever come out awesome!!! I just made the stuff-super easy! & I am so ready for a second drink! A bit sweeter than usual, but that just means one less step for my amaretto sours! Now i only need limes, water and ice-Yum to the Max!

Yes, they're delicious & yes my boyfriend loves them but i don't like making them!!! Such a mess... Mine never come out as pretty as my gramma's. They're always ugly, delicious blobs

Vegetarian Korma

This is soooo good, I make it pretty often. But, cook the taters first and throw em in at the end. Also, I never use heavy cream- why fatty up such a good vegetable dish? I prefer about a half cup of coconut milk, seems more *right*

Beetnik Cake

I really like this cake, but I really like beets too. I boiled & peeled the beets & threw em in the blender instead of grating so I didnt have to wait for them to cool. (What beet I couldn't scoop out, I used for a smoothie with what was left of a 20 oz can of crushed pineapple after I used a cup in the cake, plus some other fruits.) I also used half applesauce-half oil, added coarse chopped almonds, and frosted with lime cream cheese frosting. On the second day, the beet color soaked through the frosting so it was a pretty marbled pink color. Nice!

Playgroup Granola Bars

These bars are really lacking in texture & taste. I don't think I approve of using egg in granola, its chewy & unappealing & now im stuck with a big pan of this so now im suffering through them-yes, *suffering*. Find another recipe!
