Buttermilk Syrup

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2014
This is great on pumpkin pancakes. We also like to slice apples, pears and bananas and dip them into it.

Strawberry Vanilla Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2014
I made these following the recipe exactly and they deserve 5 stars. After that, I adjusted the recipe to our taste -- half white flour and half whole wheat, and plain yogurt instead of milk and they came out great. They have the texture of recipes where the eggs are separated and the whites whipped.

The Best Thai Coconut Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2014
When followed exactly, this recipe is fantastic and rates 5 stars. I've also added to and subtracted from it with great results. I've used left-over cooked chicken, green curry paste instead of red, added green onions and sliced summer squash, used soy sauce instead of fish sauce, omitted the lemon grass -- it always turns out delicious and I get many compliments.

Louisiana Sweet Potato Pancakes

Reviewed: May 5, 2013
Followed the recipe exactly and mine turned out mushy -- like eating mashed sweet potatoes with syrup on top. Not bad if you're expecting mashed sweet potatoes, but we were expecting pancakes. I won't use this recipe again.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2012
Very good and moist. I made it as written, but I halved the recipe and it made 24 mini muffins (baked in 12 minutes)and 12 regular sized muffins (baked in 18 minutes. In halving the recipe it called for 1 1/2 egge -- I used 2 small ones

Plum Custard Kuchen

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2012
I've made this with plums and have also made it using peaches instead of plums. I follow the recipe exactly and it comes out great -- everyone loves it!

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
I made this and everyone loved it. The only downside is that I made it in a muffin tin and had a terrible time getting them out of the pan, even though the pan was well-greased.

Creamy Cinnamon Rice Pudding

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
I'm giving this 5 stars because it's creamy and delicious. I made some changes though. I added raisins at the same time I added the eggs and a splash of vanilla at the very end. Also, I halved the sugar. I didn't read all the reviews, but none of the ones I read said anything about the high sugar content. We like things sweet, but this would have been two sweet for us. I only used 1 cup of sugar.

Porridge

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
Great recipe -- easy, quick, delicious and versatile. It's great as is, but sometimes I leave out the bananas and add apples, dates, peaches, apricots, walnuts and/or berries --whatever I have on hand.

Fig Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2011
This was OK. For me, 2 cups of preserves is too much. The bar is overly sweet and the top crust slides around on the preserves. I'll serve them, but if I make them again I'll cut down on the filling. I used whole wheat flour and butter instead of shortening and that worked out well. The cookie part was good.

Cheesy Ranch Potato Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2011
I made this recipe as a main course for friends who are vegetarian and they loved it. Instead of using bottled dressing I used a dry pkg of Ranch Dressing mix added to 16 oz of sour cream. The 6 Tbsp of butter called for in this recipe was just right -- not too much.

Too Easy Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2010
We liked this a lot, but I halved the sugar, butter and flour -- used 3/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup butter and 1 TBSP flour. Even then it was still pretty sweet -- you could probably go with 1/2 cup sugar.
