Pie Crust I

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2011
I have been battling pie crusts for many years and have finally bowed down and started to buy the pre-made stuff. But, for some inkling wanted to try making a crust one more time because I had some terrific peaches and wanted to make a pie. Well, I DID IT... finally made a beautiful pie and it was delicious as well. Easy recipe, bakes well... happy pie maker now

Apple Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2010
Not really a pie person, but I had a lot of apples leftover from a get together and did not want them to go to waste, So, followed the recipe to the exact measurements and it was GREAT!!! My hubby and I are not really pie/ fruity dessert people, but this was just oh-so-yummy!!! next time though I am going to bump down the temperature a tad because mine did come out a little dark, but that is just my nuclear oven LOL. Thanks Maggie for the recipe... this is a keeper

Kitchen Sink Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2010
I made this for a quick get together and I think only half the batch made it. They are really good and it has everything in it from sweet, to nuts to filling ingredients. I followed the exact chip amounts and I think next time I will skip over the white chocolate pieces because my husband is not a big fan...maybe more chocolate chips and add peanut butter chips. I did not have problem with scooping and baking cookies either... I used a small melon baller and they cooked just fine. Excellent!!!

Grandma's Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2010
Okay this was a late night sweet tooth episode my husband and I had and it was super dangerous because they are SO GOOD!!!! But, I do suggest 350 degrees because they brown up quick. Also, I made a chocolate glaze using milk chocolate and semi sweet chips with a little milk. Super yummy!! Oh the doughnut "holes" were delicious with cinnamon sugar. Thanks for the recipe.

Blueberry Cream Cheese Pound Cake I

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2010
Very tasty and so simple. I have made this several times and I have alternated between yellow ans white cake. Recently I have tried lemon cake and it was wonderful. I do add a little more blueberry (2 cups) and I also coat them with a little flour so, they don't sink to the bottom.

Rich and Delicious Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2010
WOW! I love this recipe. I had some old bananas just lying around and my son was starting table food and I wanted to make some bread for him but, without eggs because I did not want him to develop an allergy. I am very impressed with this, but just like other posters....I would add 1/2-3/4 cup of milk. It is great...I plan on adding nuts or chocolate chips next time.
