Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

I used butter flavored shortening and got amazing results! However, I did have a hard time keeping it together. I only used a 1/4 cup of water as someone reccomended so that could have been the problem. It tasted so good I didn't care!

Joe's Turkey Brine

I just wanted to comment on tda95337's note. Don't use a garbage bag. There are chemicals in those bags that are toxic. I brined a bird in a turkey bag one year, and later found out that garbage bags are harmful. Use an oversized turkey roasting bag or wash out a cooler instead.
