I was so excited to make this dish based on all of the great reviews, but was really disappointed with the final product. First, if using sour cream as the base in the "sauce" there is no reason to make a roux. I followed the recipe and found the sauce to be way too thick to evenly coat the beans - it was more of a paste. I added generous amounts of milk to thin the sauce, but this really didn't accomplish much. I went ahead, baked it, and crossed my fingers that the dish would at least be flavorful. Unfortunately this was not the case. I added more cheese, salt, garlic powder, milk (everything just stuck together!), some Panko for extra crunch, and baked it a little longer. These additions helped but I really think the extra cheese was what made this dish taste better. All in all, I will not be making this again.
