I am a mother of two kids and am constantly trying new foods and trying to become healthier but still get my chocolate. I am a music teacher in my area and cross country coach. I have a passion for music and running.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are foreign foods. I don't like much of the American lifestyle of food choices. I love baking and making fancy cakes for my kids birthdays, and wedding cakes for the family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is Dutch so anything dutch we do around the holidays. I don't do it very often because they like their butter.
My cooking triumphs
This year I baked a three tier fondant covered cake that looked rather remarkable for not having done it before and no classes to teach me.
My cooking tragedies
When I was a teenager I was steaming broccoli and steamed all the water out which resulted in burnt broccoli. It doesn't smell good when you burn it.

Chocolate Cookie Buttercream Frosting
I wasn't impressed with this frosting. It didn't have much of a chocolate flavor and then it didn't want to frost onto my cake. I will not be using this frosting again.

Overnight Caramel Pecan Rolls
Personally they needed more caramel on them. So next time I will double that. Also, the dough wasn't much of a sweet roll dough. I have a better dough that I will use. They were still goood though

Ghirardelli(R) Chocolate Dessert Cups
These are so fun and cheap to make. The only complaint is the balloons are pretty hard to get off. I found that if you really freeze them and then take a lighter and melt the balloon away it works pretty good and actually doeesn't really melt the chocolate
