Italian Breaded Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 20, 2012
First, there were too many eggs listed for ingredients. Then, too many bread crumbs. Then it calls for browning the garlic and removing it; the result is not much garlic flavor. Would not make again.

Ukrainian Chicken Kiev

Reviewed: May 20, 2012
This was pretty good, but there was a lack of seasoning (salt) which I thought could be overlooked but very noticeable when eating it. Agree with reviewers that making a slit in the chicken would be easier than pounding, but the chicken held together well in the pan when rolled and skewered. All the flavored butter oozed out; maybe this would not happen if the breasts were slit and not pounded.

Tasted too much like butter. Egg white added nothing. Won't make again.

Texas Sheet Cake IV

The best of the texas sheet cakes so far. Good cake, but the frosting is still a tad too sweet and lays too thin over the cake. But so easy to make.

Chicken Breasts Pierre

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2012
I liked the flavor and the ease of cooking, but the sauce was way too runny; also I had to add chicken broth in place of the water.

Asiago Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2012
Something about bacon and heavy cream seemed so wrong, so I left out the bacon. Still, the recipe lacked flavor. Needed salt, among other things. The sun-dried tomatoes did not go with the cream sauce. Sorry, didn't like it.

Texas Sheet Cake II

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2012
It was OK, better than version I, however due to some glaring flaws in the recipe I only gave it 2 stars. The oven temp was off; you need only bake at 375; also the ingredient list calls for 1 1/2 tsp of vanilla but only 1 tsp is used. Also dumping the hot ingredients all into a pile of dry ingredients makes one large mess with difficult to remove lumps. Frosting a hot cake with hot frosting is another disaster in the making. Sorry, moving on to version III next and hope it will be better!

White Texas Sheet Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2012
While super easy to make, it ended up being very dense and not at all a white cake. Even though I used only 3 cups of powdered sugar, the frosting was still too sweet. And it didn't get better the next day; on the contrary, it was best the first day. Would keep in my recipe box only for the simplicity, but needs major tweaking!

Needs salt. I like the curry flavor; an unusual spin on "stroganoff". Kids thought it was just ok.. Would possibly make again.

Onion Pasta

I made the mistake of not putting enough onions in, because I thought it would be too much...NOT! Amazing flavor from such a simple recipe. Made it along with balsamic chicken. Wonderful!

Chicken Savoy

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2012
I was skeptical...after pouring on the vinegar at the end I was sure I had just ruined the whole thing...but it ended up working very well. I cooked it slowly using an old hen we had butchered. Very delicious!

Beef Stew II

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2012
Flavor was there, but only if you double the spices as other reviewers suggest. I started out following the recipe exactly, but after tasting it after a few hours of cooking it definitely needed more spice. Also added beef bouillon and potatoes. Very watery, so added flour to thicken. Would not make again.

I liked the flavors, kids didn't like it though. If you like oriental noodles you will b\like the flavor of this. I marinated for 5 hours, but am not sure this added anything to the dish.
