Not sure why, but even though this is very similar to a spaghetti recipe my grandma made (minus the egg) my daughter wouldn't eat it. It's just OK.

Grilled Lemon Yogurt Chicken

This was OK...it seemed it would be more compatable with fish though. The chicken came out moist. and it was ok tasting, but not memorable. Will not be making again. I didn't make the sauce because I have no idea what harissa is.

Grilled Mongolian Pork Chops

This was OK, certainly not worth the cost of the various ingredients. I was skeptical of the mustard sauce until I read another reviewer's comment about the egg rolls...I love the hot mustard sauce with eggrolls! The pork was good with it, but equally good without it. I would make another, simpler recipe for asian style pork next time.

Butter Cake

Too crumbly of a crumb. Taste was just OK; the baking time way waaaaay off...luckily I knew better than to bake a layer cake for 55 minutes! And if you're using salted butter, omit the salt, otherwise you'll taste salt in your cake!

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

I used other reviewers' advice and coated the chicken with flour first, also cutting it in 1 inch pieces like you'd get from a Chinese restaurant. I also thought it had too much soy, would cut the amount next time, it overpowered the other flavors. Made a nice thick sauce right away without overcooking the chicken.

My Mom's Parmesan Chicken

This had good flavor, but I thought it needed a sauce, so I added cream to the juices in the pan after straining , also used a Dutch oven on the stovetop instead of the oven and browned the chicken first...don't think it changed the dish much. Since I didn't have sauce for all the chicken, I'm able to judge the taste of the recipe pretty much as written.

Famous Butter Chicken

This was very good! I took the advice of another reviewer and only added 1/3 cup butter and it was enough. Cooked it for 30 minutes and it was still very tender (had to wait for side dish to finish). Will make again!

Quinoa Side Dish

I have never made or eaten quinoa before, and thought as a side dish this would be a good introduction. I should have known, given the omission of sauteeing the onion and garlic (really, you never meant for these to be added raw, did you?) After dinner and looking at the reviews more closely, I discovered that quinoa must be rinsed/soaked first. This might have been good to know before cooking this dish. Never again. Goodbye quinoa, skip this dish!

Pork Tenderloin with Dijon Marsala Sauce

This was really good! I followed Julia Child's similar technique and baked the pork in the same casserole I browned it in at 325 for 25 minutes, then poured out the grease and then made the sauce. I made the mistake of not adding the onions (shallots) before adding the wine and it was a GOOD mistake, because they added a nice crunch to the sauce. Excellent with mashed potatoes. This one's a keeper!

The Ultimate Chili

This is just an okay recipe. I realized after simmering for a bit that the tastes just weren't there and had to modify it so much that it became another recipe entirely. I have another recipe I like much better, I thought I'd give this a try but it didn't cut it.

Slow Cooker Beef Pot Roast

Just OK, I didn't notice any difference in flavor from when I would just salt and pepper the meat and throw in some carrots. Actually, I thought the celery just doesn't belong with roast beef.

Happy Roast Chicken

Chicken was OK, not any better than sprinkling it with chicken seasoning. I was NOT happy with the black mess it made of my white enamel roaster. Don't know if it was the wine or the dijon. Won't make again.

Grandma's Corn Bread Dressing

It probably would have been better if I hadn't taken the advice of other reviewers and decreased the chicken broth. Mine came out very dry. The taste was OK, just not something I was looking for in a dressing.

Pasta with Italian Sausage and Pumpkin Sauce

This was just plain weird tasting. I thought I was going to have to throw it all out, but oddly enough the parm and italian seasoning on the end saved it somewhat to at least be edible. Won't make again!

Chicken Breasts in Caper Cream Sauce

Loved this recipe! I followed it exactly, but couldn't resist another reviewer's advice to deglaze with dry white wine (a last minute decision after adding some of the cream and seeing that it needed a little something more...what a wonderful flavor it gave, it was enjoyed by all; also served it over a little bit of angel hair pasta so as not to waste any of that sauce! Also I did end up doubling the amt of cream, as half a cup was just not enough.

Jen's Chorizo Pasta

The sausage did not go with the rest of the ingredients. And 1 cup of butter seriously? So many things wrong with this recipe. I added the red pepper to the sauteed vegetables instead of the cream to flavor them. Good idea executed poorly in this recipe.
