Cake Project #17: Drunken Monkey Banana Cake or, The Cake That Broke The Oven. That's right. As of this writing, the cake is being re-baked for going on 90 minutes now and still raw in the center. While flipping the cake after the first cooling I found only a toothpick length of cooked cake and the rest still batter. Naturally, I did what any cheap cook would do, I took the piece left clinging to the bottom of the pan for myself and slopped the rest back into the oven, where it presently sits possibly until Thanksgiving. Ha. I tasted those rummed up cherries. I will eat them in raw batter if I have to, sooner than later! Photo was taken before the rebake.
