Cream Filled Cupcakes

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2003
This recipe was pretty good, not great. I doubled the recipe to make 72 cupcakes, but the recipe only yielded 48 cupcakes. Also, make sure to fill the holders at least 2/3 full, not 1/2 like the recipe says. In order to fill the cupcakes with the filling well, I removed some of the cake part.

Praline Cheesecake

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2002
EVERYONE else LOVED this cheesecake! It was definitely a hit, although not my personal favorite. Also, I do prefer a much thicker crust on a cheesecake than the recipe calls for...so if you like thick crusted cheesecake...you may consider tinkering with the recipe a bit.

Black Forest Cake II

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2003
I used a generic cherry brandy and the cake tasted way too alcoholic...not good...do not try this...the cake was barely eaten. Also I had to really tweak the frosting to give it a good flavor.

Pecan Sour Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2003
After all of the wonderful reviews, I was excited to serve this cake, but it was very very bland. I even increased the icing and added pecans to the cake...I won't make it again.

Spinach and Yogurt Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2010
reminds me of a healthy cream of spinach soup. i amped it up with a ton of garlic and parmesan. i believe it is a good starting canvas which can be quite delicious once you doctor it up to your taste. i will make it again. with a red garnish such as tomatoes or red peppers this could be a fun holiday dish!

Praline Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2004
This cake was TOO dense and dry (especially when refrigerated), but the flavor was very chocolatey and good. The topping was interesting...the sugar/nut portion never turned into a powder (was this really supposed to happen?)...so the frosting was whipped butter with crunchy toffee pieces. Many people said they loved the cake, but I don't plan on making it again.

Blueberry Cream Cheese Pound Cake I

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2003
This cake was very moist and pretty tasty, but really didn'taste much more special than a box cake with blueberries thrown in it (and I used the recommended vanilla cake mix). The crowd was fond of it though.

Flaky and Tasty Pastry

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2002
This was my first pie crust and it turned out as promised...flaky and tasty, although I didn't have an easy time working with it...I assume that is probably characteristic of most pie crusts though.

Rob's Screaming Stuffed Jalapeno Peppers

i will add much more flavor to the filling next time and definitely make sure i have meaty bacon. mine turned out way to oily and not enough flavor but i know the concept is delicious.

Cabbage Borsht

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
pretty good for a base but next time i will use plain chicken broth and not fool around with the bones and skin, etc. i will instead add seasoned ground turkey or chicken and of course add a ton of minced garlic.

Spinach Turkey Roll

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2009
not so much. my changes included approximately doubling all of the flavoring ingredients - herbs, spaghetti sauce, etc, but did not double the turkey and used fat free mozz...it wasn't that good. very mushy, not great flavor and too much stringy spinach.

Perfect! Exactly what I was looking for! Also, I used about half fancy chocolate and half chocolate chips, and still, like I said...perfect!

Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2002
Fortunately I was making 2 cakes, because the first one TOTALLY fell apart...the baking time was way off! The 2nd cake turned out fabulous, but I reduced the oven temperature a bit and baked the cake for about 35-40 extra minutes. EVERYONE loved this cake! Very moist, chocolatey and rich! Thanx for the recipe!
