Chocolate Mint Dessert Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2003
I will not make these again. The brownies were soggy and the mint topping had a runny consistency. I can see how this recipe would be good if I tinkered with the bake time and amt. of sugar and mint in the topping, but first impressions are lasting ones, I guess. My dad loved them, though, so 5 stars from him.

Suki's Spinach and Feta Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2002
This is the best pasta I have ever made. I cooked it for my mother-in-law, who is an excellent cook and she was very impressed. I have made it at least 3 times in the last month. Thank you for this submission!!!!

Baked Ziti IV

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2002
This was awesome. Being a vegetarian, I omitted the sausage and hamburger and it was wonderful. I made minor additions (chives and asiago cheese) and used more cheese than the recipe called for, but I love cheese. My husband loved it as well and we decided that this one is definitely a keeper. Thanks for sharing!

Vegan Split Pea Soup I

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2002
I didn't really like this split pea soup. I added an additional cup or more of water and still it was too thick to completely cook the peas. My husband and I didn't really care for it (especially after all the time it took). We will not make it again.

Easy Spinach Lasagna with White Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2002
This is awesome. My husband had seconds, as did I! I did make a few small changes, though. I used two large, thinly sliced carrots instead of the amt. of shredded that the recipe called for, and added basil and oregano to the spinach mixture. Also, being from Wisconsin, I could not believe that a recipe called for such a small amount of mozzarella, so I added a lot more. Used fat-free ricotta and lowfat Alfredo. The result was wonderful and not too rich! I will make this again! And again!...

Lemon Parmesan Spaghetti

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2002
My husband liked this recipe much better than I did. I thought it was too dry, although I did like the flavor. I don't think I would make it again.

Lemon Mushroom Herb Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2002
This was excellent, but a little thin. Next time we will add another can of cream of musroom soup. We enjoyed it, though, and will definitely make it again! Thanks for sharing!

Cream of Fresh Asparagus Soup II

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2002
This recipe is excellent! I added the whole carton of sour cream, though (the full 8oz), but it was still wonderful. I even passed this recipe on to my mother- in-law who is way more of an accomplished cook than I. She loved it.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2001
This pizza crust was absolutely incredible. We used to use the store-bought (sorry, Betty Crocker) crust to make 'homemade' pizza, but never again. This was fantastic and well worth the time investment. Thank you for sharing, Jay...I will pass this one on to my friends!

Apple Scones

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2001
These scones are awesome. The only modification that I made was to make dough into one circle before scoring it into wedges instead of two circles. Having six larger scones seemed to work better for me. An awesome recipe, though! I have made it several times and every time it turns out perfectly. Thank you for submitting this one!

Soft and Chewy Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2001
Had I initially read the reviews, I would have known to add more flour and one less egg. I did not, however, and these cookies turned out horribly for me. Perhaps it was the light pbutter I tried to use. Anyway, they sounded good, but unfortunately were a tremendous flop for me.
