Campbell's® Slow Cooker Hearty Beef and Bean Chili

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2014
This is crazy good and so easy to make! Even hubby loves it! We eat it with Tortilla chips. Total A+ from me! A few things: I don't know why you need to brown the beef first. Maybe to drain the oil? I did make it one time without browning first (just chucked the raw in the crockpot because I was lazy) and you did see more oil on the top when it was done but once mixed you'd never know and it did add more flavor too. So I like it better this way. But it helps that I use extra lean beef I suppose as well. I do add a bit more tomatoes than the recipe says. I use one of the bigger cans (24oz?) rather than the 15oz can. I also use only 1lb of beef, mostly because the beef I like only comes in 1lb bricks and I hate having to open a full pack for just the 1/2 pound. Plus I like my chili more "beany" anyway ;) Other than those small things, I make everything else according to the recipe. Tip: the longer you let it sit/cook (i.e. on low for 8-9 hours instead of high for 4-5) the more flavor it has. Even eating 2 days later tasted better than the first day. Really yummy stuff!

Carol's Arroz Con Pollo

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2011
Absolutely Delicious Quick & Easy! I didn't have all of the inexpedience so i substituted tomato sauce for the stewed tomatoes, garlic powder for minced garlic, 2c frozen chopped peppers&onions and left out the saffron and parsley. I also added a bit of cayenne pepper to the chicken to give it a little kick. This came out fabulous! However the only complaint I have is that I had a hard time getting the rice completely cooked. It was close, but ended up being too undercooked and had to chew on a few rice pieces here and there. I used regular rice because the recipe didn't say instant..but maybe now I'm thinking it was supposed to be instant or maybe my heat was too low. Either way, it was still very enjoyable and I will make this again! Next time I may cook the rice a little before adding it to the pan.

Veggie Pot Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2010
Delicious!! Now, I only gave 4 stars because it did not taste like a real pot-pie. It tasted more like a veggie stew in a pie. Still VEERRY delicious though! Will definitely make again!

Crust for Veggie Pot Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2010
Very good! Tastes like it should and has the texture as it should! Made exactly as is. The only downfall is that I had to take out the mixer which is a chore..then clean it just to make this one crust...would prefer to do by hand...less to clean and less hassle.

Vegan Mac and No Cheese

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
um..wow! This was delicious! I've recently wanted to go vegan-ish for awhile to lose some weight and cut down on my cheese and butter intake. This was absolutely fabulous and tastes just like baked mac and cheese! It's more of a "rigotta" type texture but still delicious. I made it just as appeared the only things I changed was that I used penne instead of elbows and added a few crushed saltines to the top for a more "casserole" type feel. I also added alot more garlic powder b/c I love it plus I didn't have onion powder so I figured more garlic powder would make up for it! My husband even liked it! I will definitely make it again! Would make a great lunch for work!

Pesto Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2010
Fantastic!! This was absolutely delicious! I used a pesto sauce recipe from this site for the pesto ingredient in this I didn't have any shrimp or mushrooms and I forgot about the tomato so I omitted those and just used the sauce over penne pasta. My husband loves it too! I will definitely make again!!

Pesto Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2010
I needed pesto sauce for another pesto cream sauce recipe here and it worked perfectly! Simple and fast. I did use 1 cup of basil and omitted the nuts (because I didn't have any). Tasted fine. A little too cheesy for me when I tasted it on my finger but I didn't use it on it's own. It was mixed in the recipe that I stated above which came out delicious!

Pizza Dough III

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2010
This dough is VERY sticky! I had to add at least 2 more cups of flour as I was kneading it. Then a little more after it had risen to roll it out. I did eventually get it to work but it was difficult to work with. The dough is almost "fluffy" while you're preparing your pie until you add enough flour and knead the heck out of it. It also doesn't want to cook. I ended up burning the rest of the pizza before the dough decided to be edible. Even then the thin crust is still soft and white. If you like doughy pizza then this is good for you. (I personally like thin crispy crust). It does taste good and eventually works if you take the time to play with it but I think I may search for a different recipe. Until then, this will do just fine.

Quick and Almost-Professional Buttercream Icing

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
This icing is delicious! I was a bit nervous at first b/c it didn't look like there was going to be enough liquid to turn it into "icing". It was very powdery before adding the milk. This doesn't make alot. I had just enough to cover a 2 layer 8" cake. If you have a larger cake than that, I'd suggest making more than one batch.

Lemon Layer Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
The filling is delicious! Very tart and sweet too. I personally like my stuff on the sour side so if you do not like tartness, then use smaller lemons or a little less of the juice. Makes alot of filling! The only trouble I'm having is getting my cake layers to come out of the pan in one piece. I'm still new at this so I hope practice will make it better. I was only doing a trial run to see how this cake would be for my grandma's 90th birthday so I kindof rushed along and the cake was still warm when I was working so that could've been the problem. I did not use the 7min icing recipe..I found another buttercream recipe from this site that is very good...so I decided to use that instead.
