Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2007
My wife is a Lemon Meringue nut! She'd rather have Lemon Meringue than a cake on her birthday, and this is the recipe that I use. It maintains it's consistency and doesn't seem to melt like other pies I've made. I don't use the lemon zest, but I do kick in a little extra lemon juice, and a few dots of food coloring to get that nice yellow color. I like the idea of using a lemon extract, and I'll have to try that! Thanks!

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake V

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2007
This is a really good cake. I'm not a huge fan of pineapple upside down cake but my wife is. She requests this cake often and it disappears quickly. I add an extra handful of coconut because thats just how I like it, but otherwise a great recipe.

Grandma's Secret Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2006
I have many recipes in my folder, but this is the only pie crust I use. For me a pie crust is just something to keep the pie together but to my wife the pie crust is essential. I use this pie crust with every pie I make, Lemon Meringue, Sweet Potato, Pumpkin, and Grandma Ople's Apple Pie recipe. I change nothing in the recipe, except that I may adjust the flour or liquid to get it to where it's workable.

Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2006
2 cakey, and not enough peanut butter flavor. If I decide to make again, I'll add more PB and less flour.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2006
It just doesn't get any better than this! I've eaten many an apple pie, so for Thanksgiving 2005 I made my first apple pie. When you're making the pie it feels like it's a different pie, but the taste of this pie is is incredible! The absolute best. The apples were tender and the flavor was fantastic. The pie crust I use is Grandma's Secret Pie crust. You won't be disappointed.

My specialty is usually sweet potato pie, but I have to make pumpkins as well around the holidays, and this recipe fits the bill nicely. A great, flavorful pie thats easy to make.

Sweet Potato Pie IV

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2001
I've been eating sweet potato pies all my life during the holiday seasons. This recipe is really good. I've made it twice. Once for Thanksgiving without the topping and then for Christmas with the topping. The topping is well worth the minimal effort involved. This is now my favorite Sweet Potato pie recipe. I can't imagine it being any better!
