About this Cook
I bake, I take basic recipes and turn them into interesting, creative and yummy desserts.
My favorite things to cook
Cupcakes, fry bread, and making healthy dinners that even my man will eat
My favorite family cooking traditions
To always throw salt over your shoulder and give a pinch of sage along with it.
My cooking triumphs
Making cupcakes out of girl scout cookies that were rich and amazing. It's the one recipe I created that other's keep asking me for.
My cooking tragedies
Lighting my ovenmit on fire and lighting my stove on fire

Homemade Butter
This took forever to make but man was it worth it. My boyfriend now doesn't want to buy store butter ever again. The only problem is until we get our own cow this way is more expensive because of where I live whipping cream is through the roof. It took over an hour of whipping it with my hand mixer. But in the end got rave reviews! And now I know what to make for him as a treat!

Homesteader Cornbread
usually not a fan of cornbread. I followed the suggestion for less flour more corn flour, and more sugar. Instead of using oil since my house hold suffers high cholesterol I used unsweetened apple sauce. I also have a small gas stove that likes to fry things so I cooked it 30-40 minutes at 325. Turned out good especially drizzled with honey

Soft Sugar Cookies IV
This is the only recipe for sugar cookies I am "allowed" by family and friends to make. I also take them out before they truly brown and they turn out slightly gooey and awesome. If you brown the bottoms just dunk them in milk!
