I'm a mother of 2 who took on the challenge of loosing a significant amount of weight. In doing so I REALLY got into cooking. I've learned so many ways to cut fat and calories and sodium to make what I feed my family and myself healthy yet still appetizing. I'm married to an executive chef, but he's my best support system. he's always impressed with the recipes I'm finding on here.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are usually one dish meals that I don't have to spend the rest of the day cleaning up after! Cassaroles, stews, pizzas, anything along them lines I can almost always bet the leftovers WILL be eaten.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We always stuck with classics growing up and I want that for my family as well. I don't mind putting a spin on it or cutting back the "comfort" part of it as long as the general principle is still there.
My cooking triumphs
This last year has just been awesome for me. We moved from St. Louis to SC and I had no friends when we got here. I spent so much time in the kitchen and I am proud to say that I would serve anything I make to my husband and the chefs he work with.
My cooking tragedies
I tried this recipe I found on other website. It was a low fat soup with fresh herbs and couscous... it was DISGUSTING and I had SO much of it... that was the worst!
