Italian Herb Infused Olive Oil

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2006
FANTASTIC flavor! I made this for Christmas gifts with "Jo's Rosemary bread" in the bread machine. All the flavors melded so great! I read up on oil infusion and chose to do a heat infusion. The risk of food poisioning goes down if you heat the herbs. Something about the fresh herbs having water content that causes botchilism. That's why you should use it quickly. The heating makes it last a bit longer but still in the fridge. I bought oil bottles with spouts and sealing wax and dipped them in red wax to seal them for gifts. They were pretty with the red wax, jingle bell, red raffia ribbon and sprig of rosemary inside the bottle with the oil. Very nice!

Beef, Burgundy Style

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
Delicious! I add libbed a little however..... I put the beef cubes into the crock pot with beef broth, red wine, bay leaves, minced garlic, salt and pepper and let it cook on low all day. Then I sauteed onions and mushrooms with butter and a slice of bacon until tender. I added the broth/wine mix with the addition of some heavy cream and brought it to a boil. With some additional salt, pepper, garlic powder and seasoned salt. I added wondra to thicken it and served it over buttery wide egg noodles. WOW. YUMMO! Next time I may braise the beef cubes before crock potting them, but they were fall apart tender!

Bill and Annette's One Pot Kraut Special

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
I actually have an apple peeler that I use, which makes the apples sliced instead of diced. Likewise with the onions. Strips are nicer as you bite! The recipe somehow converted to everything being diced. I dont dice anything!

Beef Wellington

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2006
Wow! This was so good. Very easy and not too time consuming. Very fancy presentation. I omitted the pate, since most said that it was overpowering. I think next time I will add some spices though. We will surely have it again!

I cannot believe how WONDERFUL this bread turned out! I followed the directions to a tee. I borrowed a bread maker from my friend and this was the recipe I decided to make as Christmas presents. The house smells wonderful! I made herb infused olive oil to go with and everything was just fantastic!!! Will make this again and again!

Colcannon

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2007
I made this for our St.Patricks day dinner. My son, who hates cabbage, loved this dish. I really thought the flavors blended so well together. I have been interested in trying something using Leeks. I was very pleased!

Guinness® Corned Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2007
Wow. Even my picky 14yr old loved this corned beef. I rubbed the sugar on the beef poured in the guinness and put it in the crock pot on low for about 6 hrs. It turned out wonderfully!

Chicken Cordon Bleu I

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2009
Yum Yum I've actually been making this for a while. Instead of dipping in egg, I dip in zesty italian dressing and then roll in seasoned bread crumbs. Heavenly!
