Big hit with the family, I make this every thanksgiving & double the recipe. I substitute the crackers for croutons (as suggested by others) & use a can of broccoli cheddar soup &/or chicken soup. I also use part cheddar cheese/part Velveeta cheese...and add in some garlic. I think the Velveeta really adds to the yumminess of this recipe. Love using the crockpot for this thanksgiving side dish....I make it late morning, cook on high a few hours & then turn it to low heat. I love that it frees up the oven for my turkey & sweet potato's.
