About this Cook
I love challenging myself in the kitchen. Trying new recipes and techniques is something I look forward to. Compliment me on my cooking and my sense of humor and you've got a friend for life!
My favorite things to cook
I love soups. There's so much you can do in one pot and by just changing out ingredients you can have something new each time! I love baking bread, and making cookies and cakes for loved ones.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Ma always had a handful of tried and true dinners that I can't seem to mirror. There's just something about a meal cooked by your mother, no one can top it. Now I love cooking with my boyfriend. We both have a passion for Mexican food and finding the best carnitas.

My cooking tragedies
Oh lordy, there's too many to list. That's how you learn though so they're worth it in the end. I guess the biggest one was when I started a grease fire in college. In a panic I couldn't remember what you should throw on it to extinguish it. Was it flour or baking soda? I chose flour, and you can guess what happened next. Thankfully my boyfriend came in at the right time and threw a lid on the skillet and saved the day! We still laugh about that to this day.

Chili-Cheese Corn Muffins
These turned out moist and with just the right amount of chili flavor. I couldn't taste the cheddar as much but that's ok. I'll be sure to make them again next time we have chili.

World's Best Lasagna
This sauce is very close to the one I make for spaghetti so I knew the finished product would be good. However I used fresh basil and parsley for the first time and it turned out to be even better. Never turning back to dried! I followed the recipe to a T, but omitted the salt only because it seemed like too much and I like to watch our salt intake. I made the sauce the night before and assembled it the next day. Beautiful dish. Sauce was so good I spooned some over a piece of bread (I was starving) the night before for supper. Thanks for sharing this!

Chicken Salad Sandwiches
This was different. I think it called for too much mustard and it ended up very crumbly. Maybe if the chicken was shredded rather than chopped it would've stayed in the sandwich but I doubt I'll try it again.
