My favorite things to cook
Are things my husband and company will love - I get a big kick out of making something wonderful that everyone enjoys - it is so much more than just feeding your face - it's about family and connecting over food
My favorite family cooking traditions
We make Kiflis at Christmas time with my husband's 93-year-old Hungarian mother. My husband and I make pumpkin bread and other Christmas favorites together. When she was alive my Nana used to make Sicilian cookies that were covered with sesame seeds.
My cooking triumphs
Making Beef Bourgionne before going to France and after what a difference...a carrot cake that was a big hit with my step-son for his birthday...
Home grown roasted beet salad over mixed field greens including the baby leaves of the beet plant with warm lavender and lemon infused goat cheese patties, and a berry vinaigrette. The beets were from our garden and were delicious!
My cooking tragedies
Too many to remember in 1000 characters or less...BUT is it really a tragedy if you can still eat it and you proved the negative...but I did try to make kugle with leftover lasagna noodles and a can of sweetened condensed milk that I wanted to use up - not one of my better desserts or dishes for that matter...
