Sausage Soup
This is a keeper. I'd say I made it as is, but I didn't. I used tortellini instead of bowtie pasta and cooked it separately as many have suggested. I added real garlic and regular salt and used fresh basil instead of dried. I have to say that the basil really made a different to the broth. I also used diced tomatoes and tomato sauce that I canned and a couple of pepper pellets I made from roasted peppers pureed and frozen in muffin tins (and later moved to freezer bags) and also added zucchini, because why not. I can't wait to eat it again tomorrow.

Apple Brownies
The first time I made these they ended up as a pile of delicious crumbs. Do not use "The Perfect Brownie" pan with this recipe. So recovering from that mess, I tried again. I used Granny Smith apples - grated in the food processor. Granny Smiths have a lot of moisture in them, so I added an extra 1/2 cup flour to get a good consistency (and some extra cinnamon and baking powder - but the baking powder was a mistake that ended up being fortunate). They are delicious and hold together. I'm using these as part of the refreshments for a party with 60-70 people, so I used mini muffin tins and baked them for 12-15 minutes. I doubled the recipe and got about 7 dozen little round apple brownies.
