I took the advice of others and baked the shells before filling them. They came out perfectly. I would definitely use this recipe again!

Love the recipe! I also used espresso and a little more cinnamon. Instead of using reg white sugar I used 1/3 cup of reg. sugar and 1/3 cup of brown sugar. The taste turned out amazing! I also got 12 cupcakes out of it and it only took about 13 minutes for them to bake (toothpick came out clean). I also topped them with a homemade cream cheese frosting because I did not want to overwhelm myself with chocolate. I am sure the original recipe is just as good as my alternate version too!
