Brie Cranberry and Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2011
wonderful. I just followed one advice I read in one of the reviews and brushed some melted garlic butter on the crust before layering the ingredients on there. gives it that extra yummy flavor :)

Poppy Seed Mini Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2011
absolutely wonderful! i was looking for a quick recipe to use up some sour cream and was surprised how awesome these came out. it was the perfect amount for 12 regular sized muffins. the only thing i substituted was lemon zest and juice of one lemon for the lemon extract and natural vanilla bean paste for the vanilla extract. YUM! will make again!!

Glorious Sponge Cake

Reviewed: May 9, 2011
it is glorious. I used half water, half fresh lime juice and added the zest of that lime. I then used it to make a raspberry trifle, it was wonderful :)

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2011
Since I needed the beans in 15 minutes, I mashed a can of beans that look like pinto beans (different one, but tastes just like it), added about 5 finely chopped slices of pickled jalapenos and 1/3 of very finely chopped red onion, the garlic, salt, pepper, cumin and voila! I had the most delicious refried beans on a budget - and they tasted better than the ones you buy in a can :)

Simple White Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2011
good to have a "basic" recipe. I only had vanilla imitation extract which I hate. I guess if I had used the vanilla bean extract it would have made it more lovely. Plus, it is sooo sweet (even for me that has a really sweet tooth), I might replace white sugar with a darker variety and a little less of it.

Margarita Salmon

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
i left the sugar out and added a dash of soy sauce. didn't even marinate it and fried it in the pan. delicious! Next time I'd reduce the olive. it's really really good :)

Carne Guisada II

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2011
not bad, but not great either. While I liked it ok, my husband did not at all. I was looking for a bit darker color, but it turned out bright red.. basically like condensed tomato paste.. most probably won't make it again

Chocolate Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2011
these are better than i expected them to be, i think this is one of the recipes i'll make over and over again. I used lite sour cream and left the cocoa powder out, cuz i wanted them to just be classic chocolate chip cookies. and they taste even better the next day. very recommendable recipe.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
and it has become my favorite Cornbread recipe as well :) Made it in my special cast iron pan on the stove, it makes it so moist and it's pretty foolproof. Won't ever follow another cornbread recipe again.

Eclairs II

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2011
I never thought making eclairs was this easy. I always thought of it as this really hard thing, lol. I gotta say this is my second attempt, last time (about a year ago) was a failure but I wasn't using this recipe (I think). Anyways, this is a superb recipe, I recommend it to everyone.

Thai Breaded Chicken Filets

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
quite good, very juicy and nice thai flavors. I don't know about the mustard and parmesan in there, I reduced the amount used of those. And I used "shredded" oats instead of bread crumbs to make it a little bit healthier. All in all tasty and fast dinner. Served it with basmati rice and salad.

I agree the recipe asks for too much liquid. I definitely like this beef recipe, but my boyfriend LOVES it :) will make it again.

Cinnamon Rolls I

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2010
After reading all these great reviews I had the highest expectations. What went wrong for me was that I accidently added about 50% more sugar to the dough, so I just had to let it raise for much longer. Also I don't have breadmachine but I'm not new to baking, I followed all the steps as I should have. They were tasty when they first came out, but now not even 24 hours later they're not half as nice. not bad, just not as good as I expected!

Aargau Carrot Cake

I'm from the Canton Aargau myself and I gotta say this is the real deal. In Swiss German we call it Aargauer Rueblitorte. It is true, we are very famous for the carrots we grow :)
