Soundmaven_Baked Ziti I

Like all recipes on this website, I read the reviews before I dive in because I always get great tips about the recipe. This one is no different. I took the advice about cutting the recipe in half. It's just the two of us....even that was a tad much, but I blame myself. When the recipe was cut in half, the measuring amounts became odd numbers so I just rounded up to the next whole number. I didn't want to waste ingredients. I also made some substitutions based on recommendations from other reviewers to make it healthier. I changed the sour cream to plain greek yogurt. One reviewer missed the ricotta cheese so I just took my measurement of the sour cream made a mixture that was 2/3 plain greek yogurt and 1/3 reduced fat ricotta cheese. I used ground turkey instead of lean ground beef. I used reduced fat provolone slices and mozzarella cheese. I took the advice of one of the reviewers and got some quality spaghetti sauce. I was too lazy to buy additional vegetables to add to the meat sauce but that is something that you can do. I used rigatoni instead of ziti and that worked perfectly. I followed the recipe instructions in regards to how to prepare the ziti. Quite a few of the reviewers suggested to mix the meat mixture with the noodles before you layer. I did and that was perfect. I layered in corning ware and put the lid on and put it in the oven. It came out perfect. It was lasagna with rigatoni. My boyfriend had two servings. I will make this again in a heartbeat.

Baked Ziti I

Simply Lasagna

I tried this recipe and took the advice of most of the reviewers: added two jars of sauce (two different sauces), a 1/2 jar of water, extra cheese (mixed cheddar and mozzarella) and added oregano. I sort of pre-cooked the noodles but in the future I may try cooking them all the way (the noodles were a tad doughy but I think I also should let it have cooked longer in the oven but it didn't ruin the meal at all). I boiled water and put the noodles in there to soften them not really cooked them. I used 93/7 ground beef, so the meat was not greasy or high in fat. I must admit the assembly of the lasagna was not inspired. I thought I was putting it together wrong because the ricotta mixture wasn't easy to lay down and was clumpy (I had a hard time spreading it over the noodles) however in the end, it didn't matter this was delicious. Once everything cooked it blended together like you would expect lasagna to be. I would make this again. This definitely a go-to recipe for me. Thank you reviewers for the added advice.

Slow Cooker Barbequed Beef Ribs

I just tried this recipe yesterday and it turned out fantastic. I think next time I may cut back on the mustard or use Dijon instead. I am not a huge fan of mustard and you can definitely smell it and taste some of it. There is a touch of bitterness to the BBQ sauce but nothing that would overall ruin the dish. I would definitely make this dish again.
