St. Louis Toasted Ravioli

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2012
Totally reminds me of home! This is a great (and easy) way to replicate what you get in the freezer section when your freezer section doesnt carry toasted ravioli.

Spinach Salad with Honey Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
Good start to the recipe. I would reduce the sugar to 1tbs (maybe less) and then keep the honey as is. Warming really helps make it more dressing-like. Tastes great.

Homemade Sweet Italian Sausage (Mild or Hot)

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2011
Great recipe. I sadly didn't have fennel seeds, but even without them this was a great recipe. I used ground beef -- even though it says not to -- and it was still very good. I took the meat after seasoning it, mixed it up and cooked it into a crumble. Then I added stewed tomatoes, a bit of sugar and paste and made a great sausage meat sauce for my fresh made wheat pasta. Great meal!

Very good! Served it at a birthday brunch to rave reviews, even by some who usually aren't so complimentary :)

Grilled Salmon With Orange Glaze

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2011
Made it with peach preserves and ginger powder. Was amazing. Left some sauce over after glazing and put it on the stove to cook down -- got this great thick caramelized flavor. We grilled it -- one of my new fav. recipes.

Poppyseed Dressing

Reviewed: May 19, 2011
This was excellent. Easy to decrease the size of the recipe too -- I made it for 5 servings. Used Apple Vinegar and it was excellent. Emulsified perfectly.

Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
this was good, but not great. I followed the recipe to a tee and marinated in the refrigerator for 2 days. Granted we should have flipped after one day, but when we pan grilled it, it crusted and ended up tasting burned even though we didn't over cook it at all (the center was medium). It was also a bit salty -- but with kosher meat that may be to be expected.

Bread Machine Challah I

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2011
I made this precisely to the recipe expect for adding a tbs or so more sugar. I have a panasonic, 6 mo old bread machine. This worked perfectly. I set it to medium and light crust and it came out soft and delicious. This is one of the only recipes we have tried so far which has not become heavy once it cooled.

Honey Wheat Sandwich Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2011
This was very good bread, but I found it to be a little heavy coming out of our bread machine. We made it as a full loaf as opposed to rolls. I would make it again and play with it a little.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2011
Followed the recipe perfectly but made it in the pressure cooker instead of a slow cooker. Worked perfectly. We used a shoulder steak cut up which turned out very tender. Husband LOVED it and we will definitely be making this again.

Bread Machine Challah II

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
very very good. I made it on the quick cycle on my bread machine and it was a bit under done but we like challah a little gooey :) I did add 1/2c extra flour as per other postings. Probably ok w/o the extra flour.

Husband LOVE this. I added some fresh parsley and a bay leaf. Very good! Could be great with egg noodles instead of potatoes. Yum!

Very light and fluffy. I used buttermilk powder (5tbs of powder and 1 1/4 c water) and I mixed it in the KitchenAid. Worked wonderfully. Next time, Im trying blueberries! Sooo good with honey!

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2010
WOW. It sounded like a strange method, but with so many reviews, I just had to try it. This recipe rocks. Hands down excellent. I tweaked it only to add cinnamon and vanilla to the apples before putting them in the crust. Other than that, its perfect!

pretty good... my condiment-adverse husband thought it was too "ketchup-y" but I thought it was pretty spot on!
