About this Cook
I'm a social worker. I am a military wife. I have two hilarious dogs. I'm training for my first marathon. I'm pretty content with life!
My favorite things to cook
Anything my husband likes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making frosted shaped sugar cookies with my grandma at Christmas time.
My cooking triumphs
My mom never cooked growing up, so just learning how to simply cook on my own is a success of its own!
My cooking tragedies
Always follow the ingrediants. Whenever I go off on another path, disaster usually occurs.

Wave Your Flag Cheesecake
I made this over the weekend just for fun and thought it turned out rather well. I think the mixture of cool whip and cream cheese for the topping was quite rich. I think next time I will use fat free cream cheese and/or light cool whip.

Beet Salad
What a fabulous tasting salad! Instead of roasting the beets, I boiled them on the stovetop (for time's sake) and it came out delicious. I would recommend making more of the dressing, just because I don't think it coated the salad well enough for the amount of greens I used.

Fresh Rhubarb Pie
I am an awful baker, but I was able to make this pie a success! This is a perfect recipe for someone learning their way around the kitchen. I also added strawberries and peaches my second time around when making this.
