Just Me
About this Cook
I love trying new recipes. Lately I have realized that everything I have cooked I have cooked about 100 times. So I am trying new recipes and expanding my recipe box.
My favorite things to cook
Either its really easy or its really hard. I would like to find a medium level recipe someday!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family recipes are the ones that keep me waiting for fall and winter to come around. Sweet Potato Casserole and 5-hour Stew. YUM!
My cooking triumphs
Last night I made a layer cake! This cake represent three things I have never done. 1. Make and compile a layer cake 2. Make a cake from scratch 3. Make icing from scratch
My cooking tragedies
I cannont make pie and/or pie crust. I can't even make pie with premade pie shells. The pie is never cooked in the middle and the pie crust always burns. I even tried a frozen pie - - -I burnt the crust. UGH . . .so frustrating!

Monster Cookies II
Holy cow does this recipe make a bunch! I substituted butterscotch chips for candy pieces and it turned delicious. This are not very soft and get crunchy quickly. I had to mix these cookies together in two very large bowls as they wouldn't fit in one. I will make these again, but half of what the recipe calls for.

Slow Cooker Italian Chicken Alfredo
This recipe gets an A for being very economical and a C-/D+ for everything else. I tried this recipe today and it feel very flat. I think there are too many flavors that are supposed to mingle well, but didn't. My sauce came out very lumpy and runny (I may have not let my cream cheese sit out long enough to soften.) I added some flour to thicken it. But after the first taste, I was done. This is definitely something I will not be trying again.
