My favorite things to cook
I'm a baker at heart, I love to do cookies, or pastries all the deliciious desserts that we never make time for. The holidays always give me a good excuse to spend some time baking!
My favorite family cooking traditions
One of the staples in our house has become lasagne. I've perfected my version of a recipe that was handed to me by a family I spent a summer with while my own had moved away for work. It's such an easy recipe that does not require you cook the noodles and it turns out perfect everytime!
My cooking triumphs
Just managing to get a menu together week after week and pull it off among all the other priorities is my own triumph!
My cooking tragedies
While working with my older daughter to help foster her love of cooking we decided to make a brownie pudding cake together. We accidentally omitted the flour and we ended up with brownie soup, it still tasted good, but it was better as a topping than it was an actual dessert!

Merritt's Butternut Squash Gratin
I tried this recipe at a potluck with my fellow employees and fell in love with it! I decided to share it with my family over Christmas and they did too! My husband is not a big fan of Gruyere so I used Asiago, Jack and Sharp Cheddar and still topped it with Parmesan. I will make this again without a doubt!
