Banana Cake VI

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2013
Excellent banana cake, five stars for sure! Did not make the frosting, as I did not want to add more calories as I made the cake for my husband and myself. Did not put the cake in the freezer either. Moist as can be, give you more stars if I could. Thank you Cindy will pass this recipe to others.

Oatmeal Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2011
Very good, I will definitely make these cookies again. Made 40 cookies. I did grease the cookie sheets. My oven temperature was set at 350°. Didn’t realize until after baking the temperature said 375° in the recipe. Anyway they were perfect. Thanks.

Great, fast and easy! I have made this recipe 4 times already. Followed the recipe exactly, except adding extra ½ cup of flour. I calculated the cost; .12 a bun.

Applesauce

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2011
Very good. I never bother peeling apples when making applesauce! Added only ½ cup water and simmered covered very low heat for 1 hour 15 minutes. The kitchen smells so good! Added ¼ cup sugar and 2 tablespoons honey the last 15 minutes of cooking time.

Danish Cinnamon Snails

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
Very good, fast and easy recipe. Substituted 2 packages of dry yeast instead of cake yeast. Definitely will make this recipe again. Did not use cardamom, as I did not have any. Added sugar glaze when the rolls were cool. Next time will try spreading on the butter and sprinkle on the sugar and cinnamon.

Garlic Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
Good, basic easy recipe. Pretty close to how I have always made deviled eggs except for adding pickle relish, as my mother always did:)

Maple Corn Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2011
Baked in muffin pan instead of square baking pan, made 9 muffins, baked 16 minutes. Only other changes, I used sugar free maple syrup and added raisins. Filled baking cups about halfway, added ½ teaspoon raisins and added more batter to 2/3 filled. Depending on your muffin pan you might be able to get 10 muffins. Nice light moist muffin.

Nougat Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2011
Five stars. Give these cookies a try. You will be glad you did. I crushed the nougat in a plastic bag with a wooden mallet. My second batch of cookies, substituted 1 teaspoon of water with vanilla as the previous reviewer tried. Great good both ways!

This was very good. I was in a hurry and wanted something quick and easy. I used ½ cup butter & 1 tablespoon olive oil, and one lemon. Baked 350° basted only once no turning was necessary.

Tea Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
Tea Biscuit recipe made only eleven 2 ½”x ½” biscuits, which really were not thick enough! Don’t see how you could get 20 servings out of this recipe. This recipe is very close to the biscuits that I always make. The only difference is my recipe calls for ½ teaspoon salt, 3 teaspoons baking powder and ¼ cup shortening, which I would recommend and will continue to stay with.

London Broil I

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
Very pleased with marinade recipe and will definitely make this recipe again. The only changes that I made was; only ¼ teaspoon pepper, 1 teaspoon Mrs Dash seasoning, was out of oregano, only ¼ cup soy sauce and added 2 tablespoon balsamic vinegar as the last reviewer suggested. Also, marinated London broil in a glass pie plate and flipped the steak over every once in awhile.

Crispy Baked Cereal Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
Very good and easy recipe. I cut up a whole chicken and this recipe was just enough to coat all the chicken pieces. Did cut the salt down to ½ teaspoon and added 2 ½ of Mrs Dash Seasoning! The final change was the cereal, because I did not have rice cereal; used half Corn Flakes and Cheerios!

Maple Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
You can smell the maple flavor when you take the muffins out of the oven! I would make them again. For those that like sweeter and more maple favor, try frosting the muffins with Maple Butter Frosting that is listed on this website.

Soft Baked Custard

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
Recipe turned out perfect. I made this especially for my husband. Used Xylitol instead of sugar, we like it much better than Splenda. You can buy Xylitol at health food stores. The only grocery store that we found it at is Whole Foods. Used 1% milk. Was out of nutmeg so sprinkle cinnamon instead. Only used ½ teaspoon of vanilla. Baked 10 minutes longer. Thank you Mary for your great recipe.
